After being on vacation for a week, decided it was time to go over some of the previous posts. I have not been posting and did not renew my premier membership because of the attitudes displayed on the forum and the unprofessionalism of so many people. It seems that no one can make a comment adverse to the posters without getting slammed and ridiculed. I consider myself a professional yet I have been called a "newbie" among other things by people that will post next week about how to address a certain way to notarize. Please be professional and use the forum for what it is intended. I have read posts where some of the usuals rant and rave thru every post on the forum. Maybe thats the only way they can be heard. So Sad

Professionalism on Notary Talk

Please don't paint us all with a broad brush with the saying, "unprofessionalism of so many people". That generalization is simply not true or fair. That's what is really "So Sad". Frown

She did not paint *all* with a broad brush. Her comments pertained to "so many people." And yes, there are many of us who treat this forum like it's a knife fight in an alley. That, or like a playground squabble amongst second graders over who peed in the sandbox.

Then send a PM to the offending party or block them

Like John/CT, I feel there's no need to post a blanket statement if it does not apply to *all*, JMHO.

That was precisely the point. She did ***not*** make a blanket statement. You just chose, and continue to choose, to interpret it that way.

I don't PM people with negative comments about public posts; any such responses are likewise public. And blocking a poster from PMing me would in no way address the issue she raised, which was the alarming viciousness of a couple of threads in the past few days.

then stop reading those posts for christ's sake; move on

can we please move past the *alarming viciousness of a couple of threads in the past few days* (as hugh puts it)

there are some topics and posts on here that i wont touch with a 10-ft pole so i keep it moving. i'm not about to make a general post about 'so many people'. not my style.

Sigh. John, "so many" is -not- "all". All one has to do is

read for a while to see her point.

It is a point well-taken.

"It seems that no one can make a comment adverse to the posters without getting slammed and ridiculed." I would agree to a certain degree.

IMO, it depends on the poster, and whether they are seeking advice, opinion or want a particular question answered, AND it also depends on their motive for posting...do they post to blatantly show off...do they post to purposely rant on one or two folks who post on a regular basis regardless of their answers, do they want to provide informative professional information such as articles, etc.

It all depends....
