If it's the same Speedy Closings that I know of, you might reconsider. Use the Search button. "Speedy" doesn't refer to how you get paid.

Sure - give them a chance. I agree, everyone deserves a chance. It only took me 1 year to be paid - perhaps they will set a record with you at 14+ months?

Don't come complaining here - be prepared to suffer in silence or hear "I told you so" or "You should have believed what you read".

The reason they have 2 stars?

Because there are many NJ agents who do get paid timely. But, they are same state, and when one is in the same state, one has much more leverage for collecting.

They are in NJ now?

I thought they moved to Ohio. Did they move again? I have worked for Frank before for many years. He has always met my fee and his has always paid me on time. The only issue I have ever had with him is getting docs on time and typical doc issues which he has not control over. There are always 3 sides to a story. Theirs, yours and the truth. I do not recall if he requires an invoice of fax back for pay but perhaps this is being over looked by the SA and it delays payment. I say work for them yourselves and then decide. Good Luck!

I wouldn't believe your eyes either.

People change all the time and perhaps they have turned the corner and are paying every 2 weeks like clockwork. Good luck on that.

"I will give them one chance, everyone deseves one"

Then you are a moron. Why did you even bother to ask if you were going to work for them no matter what anyone said?

Just don't come back whining on this board about not getting paid. You'll have nobody to blame but yourself.

Re: Speedy Closings? ask for paypal in advance -

they will do that. They did for me- which is the only way I would work for them. They called 2 friends of mine that have zero experience and have never signed a loan! I think they troll the sites looking for notaries they have not burned. The one guy I know took the order- so he could get experience and sign his FIRST loan!

Worked for them last of the month in June, met my fee and was paid as promised by Frank in 7 days. Go figure. I had discussed the payment issues post here and was promised to be paid in 7 days - took a chance and it paid off. Will work for them again

Definitely NOT Speedy Paying

Quit working for them last year. Performed two signings in August, got paid finally in November. They try to work you down to the lowest rate possible, pay slow and when the check comes, there isn't even a courtesy stub. Another sub-standard signing company operation of which there are an ever increasing amount. I am working mostly directly for title companies now and even they will have an occasional problem, but nothing like many of these skeezy signing companies that hire doofus notaries to do signings for $40 - $60. This business has certainly changed - unfortunately for the worst.

In my caller ID they are labeled "Speedy - NO Way" so I don't make a mistake and take the call.

Re: Speedy Closings? 90+ days to pay...but...

I agree with the person that said they'll give a person at least one try. I did w/Speedy Closing. Frank was professional and docs were received on time, he met my fee (higher than he quoted). I sent him Past Due notices after 30, 60, and 90 days. After 90 days I gave him the option to pay by credit card or PayPal (you can pay by credit card through PayPal), and that day he paid me my fee via PayPal - I had sent him a request for money at his request after talking with him.

Patience and persistence has always worked for me.

"Frank was professional"

"I sent him Past Due notices after 30, 60, and 90 days"

Exactly how low are your standards that this meets your definition of professional? In my world having to bug somebody for 3 months to get paid makes them the polar opposite of professional.

Re: Speedy Closings? 90+ days to pay...but...

I agree with CaliNotary. There is nothing professional about a company that takes 90 days to pay. Anyone can be friendly on the phone and offered a good fee. If they fail to pay, that is a better clue to what kind of company they are. If you have to hound them to 90 days, they are a scummy company. But, I guess everyone defines 'professional' in the way they choose!

But...if Speedy is professional, I'd like to know who she thinks is unprofessional!

I have done many closings for them and never waited more than 2 months.
Long time yes, but they did pay

Response to how professional...

When I said Frank was professional I was referring to communications. He did not raise his voice, get huffy, whine, hang up, brush me off, etc. I was not referring professionalism to timely payments, which I will agree can be part of being professional, although I call it responsible.

As for waiting 90 days until I gave him PayPal options... that is what I, as a business, set up as my final "waiting period" before I take it to small claims court. But I do send out late notices as reminders so I have documentation for small claims.

Each person should have a plan and procedures for his/her business practices.
