Stars

OK,

I'm sure there is a thread here somewhere about rating on signing central, but I looked and there wasn't much under my search,

I was just wondering how everyone uses signing central, ie, for me, if a company doesn't pay at all and doesn't return calls, one star, if a company is slow to pay two stars, I don't think I usually use three stars unless there is an isolated incident or if they might be hard to deal with customer service wise, and four stars for companies that do pay......just wondering what everyone else does...

This is how I give stars:

1 star - no-pay company or I absolutely had to pry my money out of their clenched fists
2 stars - got paid but it took 45+ days and/or I had to remind them to pay me
3 stars - paid at approx 30 days and/or paid just an OK fee
4 stars - paid in less than two weeks and/or paid a nice fee
5 stars - paid a nice fee and paid in less than two weeks

I would agree, but for 5 stars they also need to answer the phone whenever (toll free) know what they are doing, and know this business. Plus be easy to work with. (on the pay, I'd give them 10/14 days. altho anything less that 30 days is okay with me.)

Re: Stars/PS

PS: As far as the amount of the fee…I don’t work for less that I want or agree to. If they pay me as agreed I’m happy.
As far as the low-ballers I don’t work for them, and I don’t rate a company I haven’t worked for.

Re: Stars/PS

If I wasn't willing to negotiate my fees then I would be out of business. I have a minimum that I will go to and no lower. If a company grinds me to my minimum, they get a lower rating from me than another company that is willing to pay the original fee that I quoted. Like you, in all cases I only work for an amount that I agree to. I don't rate companies I haven't worked for either, unless I've had some sort of unusual experience with them that would warrant it.

Good list! I also consider responsiveness and other things, like hand-holding, jumping through hoops (or not), ease of communications and compliance with their systems, fax-back requirements (by them, not the lender), attitude, etc.

I should have said that!

To me the price/fee is of no concern. I quote a price…they accept the price…they pay me…this is a given. I charge everyone the same.
If they don’t pay me they are thieves, and I let all know. If they pay later than agreed upon…I never work for them again, and let all know.
To me the difference between a one star, and a five star should be the ease of doing business…not if you get paid or not.

for me, a 5 star company is one that DOESN'T hold

my hand, and calls me every single moment before, during and after the signing, to see if things are okay, or if I dropped the package and whats the tracking number!

A 5 star company, IMO, has professional well spoken personnel, meets YOUR fee and doesn't try to haggle or low ball you down, sends the package at least 2-3 hours before the appointment, gives the nsa flexibility with the scheduling (that is doesn't schedule a time and tell the nsa NOT to call the BO), docs are prepared accordingly, small packages (under 100) would be nice, but not necessary, and actually PAYS w/in 2 weeks after the signing!

Bingo Cari!
They hire us to do a job, and they should rely on us to do the job. If we don't, then don't hire us again. Simple business practices.
