Starting out... how much should I charge?

I'm going to start signings on my own, worked for Title for many years until office closed, now have a great job at the local hospital. But I have afternoons, evenings and weekends to work. I am fluent in spanish... how much should I charge? Should I open my overnight acct. at an overnight co.? and how can I get a cheap printer? thanks for any advice!

Research here on NR

Take some time to search these topics and you will find out all the info. You can find this same question answered many, many times. Nobody here is going to provide a business plan for you. Having said that, good luck and welcome!

Start with msg # 33325 and go from there. Only you know what your expenses are and what your profit margin should be.

Research, research, research and market, market, market.

Where in CA are you?

Enough to cover your expenses and

make a profit that will allow you to keep the venture going and worthwhile.

What that number is, no one on this board can tell you.

Especially since to do so would be to enable another competitor to jump into the fray with a pass on paying their dues.

<<<Should I open my overnight acct. at an overnight co.?>>>

What does that mean?

<<<and how can I get a cheap printer?>>>

You may save by getting only a monochrome laser printer (prints in black only, no color) but make sure it has PCL 6 drivers, and dual trays where it pulls from both legal and letter sizes (very cost effective). Personally, I don't buy used/refurbished electronics but others swear by them. You can also research and find out which laser printer models will be discontinued....you may be able to save big time.

When my favorite Estee Lauder lipstick color was discontinued, the salesperson at Macys gave me the number to a place called "Gone But Not Forgotten". You call them, tell them what discontinued product you want and the quantity and they take your info and credit card info and will search the country (or possibly the world) and if/when it's found, it's automatically shipped to you. They also include a letter saying they found your item "this time" but in the future it may not be available. I ordered my discontinued lipstick two years ago, then recently took a chance to see if they could find it again - and they did. There's a service fee of five dollars. The price of the item is not marked up, you pay the same retail price as in the store, plus standard shipping.

It's not just for cosmetics, I believe they can find just about anything that was discontinued.
