UPS Suspended My Account???????

Any thoughts on why? Never had any problems.

I suggest that you call them and see what is going on. Is there a possibility someone else has used your account without your knowledge?

They did that to me because I never shipped anything using my account. I only ordered supplies. I tried opening a new account so I could order supplies. That worked, but the next time I tried to order, I found my account suspended again. It's just not worth the hassle. Now I just fax in a supply order and indicate at the top of the order form that I am a third-party shipper.

Another reason could be if the credit card they have on file for you has expired.

I also don't ship anything using my account. They just lost this sale to FedEx. Will call them in the morning.

Yeah, I prefer FedEx too, and I use my online FedEx account whenever I need to ship any personal shipments. UPS is just too much of a PITA.

You are probably better off shipping as third party and not having an account. I tried delivering a Saturday pu to a UPS store they wouldn't take it cause it was a hand printed label. I was told from now on my name has to be the shipper so you know what that means? They are going to (mistakenly) charge me for some overnights and I'm going to be on the phone waisting my time getting the charge taken off.

I think they purge inactive accts. I had an email a few weeks ago, reminding me to login to keep my acct. active. I only opened it to use the online shipping label feature.

They do that if you don't ship. Both FedEx and UPS should have "supplies" only accounts for third-party shippers. It's not like you can use their shipping supplies for anything else... Although USPS finally wised up to the fact that people (mostly eBayers, I guess) were cutting their free Priority Mail boxes and reversing them to use for regular shipping, so they started printing something like "For Priority Mail Only" on the inside of the boxes...

No pick-ups is my problem with UPS. On the other hand,

my local guys and gals are so accomodating when I'm on the hunt for a truck.

FedExers are equally wonderful, and because of our very early Coastal deadlines, our carriers perform some crazy acrobatics to get'er done.

FedEx out-services The Brown and Gold only in pick-up convenience and sometimes, necessity.

My UPS acct gets cancelled about every 2 months

and its also because I only order supplies, I go through their 25 pack of legal envelopes like crazy! A 5 minute call gets it reinstated again....

Same happened to me, and I after I sent a what the heck email, got a reply saying it was due to 'inactivity' on my account as the reason why my acct was closed. I only used UPS to send packets back that required a UPS shipping and had accounts.

I don't use them anymore, unless the company that hired me, provides a label.

FedEx easier to work with - user friendly when creating a shipment label.

I still have my account, but never use it but to order supplies like you all do, but I regularly get bills from them and the hassle to call and get them to take it off, 10 min. minimum on the phone it's just ridiculous.
My preprinted shipping labels have my name on them, and a tracking # I believe connected to my account. the other day I got a invoice for them for two pkgs. sent to Service Link and the label was clearly made out correctly with Service links account number yet they billed me.
I went round and round with the UPS agent, she said that I she would remove it this time as a courtesy, I'm like, you all made the mistake in the first place, I have a copy of the original shipping label here and it's clear as a bell.
What the heck is wrong with the UPS idiots?
I never have this problem with Fed Ex. I am no longer going to put my name on as the shipper, I'm so fed up with it and I'm not going to order preprinted ship. labels anymore.

Don't use the Pre-printed labels

Only use the online UPS or FedEx systems to generate your airbills.

Exception: If the documents include a prepared label, use it instead of one of your own.
