There are a few posters that I click on and think oh, geez, here we go again. If I could 'hide' them I wouldn't have to waste my time reading their dribble (I think that's Hugh's description).

It would probably come in handy for those who don't wish to read posts from people (like me) who don't want to link their email and who's opinion, to some, is not worth the page it's written on.

Probably, but alot of times I just click away, only after reading the post do I look at the author. Same way i read the editorials in the Post.
