Worse signing I EVER encountered
Signing was dated July 22, 2010. Received package, had borrowers sign, sent off. July 26, get email saying I need to go back out and resign the AKA statement. There were initially two sets and one set had mispelled names. Borrower put correct spelling on it, but said they dont sign their names with thier middle name nor middle initials so they sign their regular way. Not a problem I'll go back out and have them resign.
July 27, 2010 new email saying I forgot to send back the 1003 final, "amended itemized financed" and emergency contact form. Spent 2 hours in email going back and forth saying the 1003 was included, there was no amended itemized financed sheet because the original one had incorrect fees on it and the borrower called the LO while I was there and left a message and no one called back. They signed it anyways. And there was no emergency contact form originally in the package. This new development requires a new trip fee as these are new documents.
So spent 2 hours in email going back and forth as they were blaming me for not including package and missing pages 11-17 (but yet they received all the other pages, go figure). So I happened to have saved the loan package on my desktop (lucky for me), so I attached it to the email and even pointed out the specific page numbers to the corresponding missing docs they claim. They stated that was the loan docs and the docs were in the title docs....excuse me???? Told them what my fee was for the new development. They insist, its my screw up.
I call the borrowers and schedule a time to go out there (to sign the AKA statement as that is the only docs that needed notarized). Get a call later from someone at the title company saying they will pay the fee, please go get the documents signed. was already heading to borrowers anyway.
Get to borrowers house, they had their copies of the documents laid on the table. I ask to flip through them. First 20 pages had TWO 1003, not one but TWO!!!! The original itemized financed fee with incorrect numbers, NO EMERGENCY CONTACT for next of kin document.
Im feeling really good that Im not going crazy, borrowers even commented on how they remember signing most of those documents because they noticed discrepancies in credit and income information on the originals and even said they watched me put the originals in the fedex envelope while we were still at the table. As immediately after the signing, I dropped docs off to fedex on way home.
So the borrowers said the loan is not being funded because the LO said those documents were missing.
This has been a straight headache for me dealing with this company who wont admit their own mistake and Im curious to know what really happened to those documents I sent back...the missing TWO 1003. This company met my fee and even pays within 10 days, but geez at least admit your mistake, its not going to kill or harm anyone. This experience has definitely made me rethink how I do business with this company from here on out....

My experience with the "AKA" Statement is that many times there are different spellings or, for that matter, different names on it. If a borrower states they have never used that name I have the write in next to the name, "Never known as". This in most cases will suffice rather than put the correct spelling on it and I believe is the correct thing to do rather than correct the spelling.
