Contact the title company/lender.
They most likely will have you either ask you to have the borrowers cross-out, correct and initial the docs, or they might have to be re-drawn.

Re: Contact the title company/lender.
Also, if the current title was recorded wrong, they might have to do a quit claim deed to fix it or use and "aka"

Title said to have him sign AKA on the DOT. This has been going on with them for 46 years. Go figure!

If they continue to sign AKA's and not say enough is enough then they have done very little to stop it.

i stick a little tighter to the rule than most in that.....
i will never accept an aka or fka to do my notary work........the id has to match or exceed how ever the name is signed and it has to be current with a photo and signature......if that isn't satisfactory to the hiring entity they have to re draw the docs or find another notary........i can not tetify that an aka or fka is correct because i have no proof of that.....our sos office agrees...............

Re: i stick a little tighter to the rule than most in that.....
I only put their current name in the notary block unless they can give me proof of the fka (such as a marriage/divorce certificate).
Again, I reiterate that they must call the hiring party or title company for directions.

but their directions can not be sommething that would.....
cause them to want me to testify in my notary block that their info was correct when in fact i would be perjuring my self because i would not be able to prove it......of course i would call them first and then let them know if i would continue or not....

I had something similar a couple of weeks ago. Both husband and wife had full first, middle, and last name on docs. Wife's middle name was close, but incorrect. Lender wanted her to sign with the incorrect name and told the borrowers that after the loan had funded they should then go down to the courthouse and take care of getting the name changed to the correct name.
Borrower said OK, but I told the lender sorry, I cannot notarize an incorrect name because that's not what her ID says (I really don't think that had even occurred to the lender). So they had no choice but to halt the closing and redraw the docs. I was called for the resign the next day and lo and behold there's a Deed in the package to correct the misspelling.

Your acknowledgments and jurats reflect the name as shown on the ID as that is the person appearing before you. A signature/name affidavit will not cover notarial acts as most escrow and lending folks think it does.
