Better than Marketing!!
I think the best way to drum up business is to NOT be available. HA I've been in Lincoln City OR on and off for the last two months spending about a week at a time here. During Oregon visits I've been averaging about five or six job calls a week. (which lately is lots). When I'm home, central valley CA... well let's just say I had four basic notary calls last week. Two of which were freebies, and one where the signer thought it wasn't right that I should charge a travel fee. ($10.00)
This morning, MONDAY/MID MONTH, I've turned down two jobs already. How do they know? How do they know I've left town ?hmmm.
I answer the phone anyway; just in case I can fanangle a job for next week!! When I'm home!!
:0)

Know exactly what you mean!! Seems every single time I'm out of town, there's the phone -- again and again.
How do they do that??

I was taking a class at a local Community Collage on Monday evening and would receive at least two signing requests every week, one week I receivced six requests. During the Spring break, no calls and, now that there is no school I only have one signing scheduled for today. So far... Erwin

Let's go on "pretend vacations." Like just to our backyard or a nearby park. But the important thing is to send out those vacation vibes, tricking them into thinking you've really left town. Then the phone will go berserk!

Yep, guaranteed. When I take a break for vacation my phone rings off the hook! All you have to do is make other plans. LOL

Honestly, every time I go on vacation I loose around 8-10 orders. My phone rings off the hook...from good paying companies. It is just maddening to me. Good thing I only take a couple of weeks off per year. Here I am on vacation spending money and loosing money. Good thing my husband has a traditional job with paid vacation days. He gets upset with me that I keep a tally of my "lost income".
Everyone needs a break- though!!!
