Gotta love it
Got called this morning to "clean up" after another notary. No notarizations needed on several docs, just needed borrowers' signatures in "the right place".
Contacted borrower to set up appointment, and was told the other notary "poor girl" must have been doing signing documents for the first time because she was out three days in a row, since Monday, with forms that didn't get signed correctly. That notary commented to the borrower that she didn't get enough fee because she had to print all those docs, copy them (?) and send them back. Then borrower commented that the notary said the notary's daughter printed the docs for her at the daughter's office!
So many red flags on this, but the kicker was when the borrower said she thought her own daughter, whose only background is as a day care worker, could probably do signing work for $400 or $500 a month so she could stay home with her kids. After rolling my eyes, I told the borrower that her daughter might do better in another field, as this one is too slow right now.
Ah, the innocent!

Everyone not in the business is looking for something easy, they just don't know what hoops we have to jump thru to complete a closing. As for the notary it seems she was in over her head.

That must have been one of those clueless notaries who responds to low-ball offers & shouldn't be in the business at all! I'm sure from what the borrower saw, they would obviously think, "Hey, any moron can do this". LOL

Thereby compromising the borrowers private info. Well, that's what they get when they contract with $50 Notaries...sending the Notary back to correct her mistakes, then finally calling in a professional to clean up the mess. I am surprised, though, she didn't screw up the notarizations.

Regretably the SS is one I enjoy working with who pays a reasonable fee, and the notary told the borrower what she would get paid; information that was then passed to me. (Can you tell this was a chatty borrower?)
I asked the SS why I wasn't contacted earlier, and was told they have new schedulers. Does that mean they're getting more work? Is there light at the end of this plugged up tunnel?

Would like to be optimistic but note they said "New" schedulers - not "More" schedulers...
