All about steps to market a mobile notary business...nothing about Signing Agent as we all know it..or did I miss something?

no, just found it interesting that she didn't mention any of

the potential loss in business nor did she list any what you could be making, versus what you will actually make.

the writer is not a notary public or nsa...just some freelancer tryin' to get her stuff out there...

A lot of my students are NNA certified and came to me because they don't know what the h____ they are doing! My last graduate was NNA certified and was told at the signing table that they "might have well sent someone from McDonalds!"

That makes sense to me. During the subprime frenzy a loan officer told me he was fresh from "The Gap"

The article really didn't say Do-diddly-squat It could replaced SS business with "trucking" business or any other business. I did put in How to get paid by SS AND it came back with SSI LOL

I know, that's the thing that struck me curious James. Seems writers like this seek out the very basics of any type of profession, and try to write about it in the most basic format of "how to's" ....she probably got some if not all of the info from XYZ website or the like.

But I do wonder how much it would pay to write such blasé articles?

Perhaps a new $$ to look into.....hmmm.

That is exactly what this writer did. Over the past month I have done freelance writing for a content site. All a writer needs to do is follow the format and do some basic research on a predetermined topic. The majority of contributors are English or Jouralism grads looking to make money on the side. To be honest, the money is not that great unless due to the amount of research that needs to be done per article.

Clicking on her background, she's done medical technical writing. Why would she consider trying to do something about a field she's not that familiar with, except that she can do a little research...apparently very little.

But, on the other hand, maybe if someone sees the steps that may be required to market a business, this or any other, they may reconsider the job at McDonald's.

I think you nailed it...

This seems to me to just be a churned out article with minimal research that someone could have easily produced in an afternoon - or less. As Dick pointed out, she didn't mention that fees are often controlled by the state, that there are other ways - beside the NNA - to get training, and the list could go on. Most of it probably was just taken from the NNA website. Most of us could have probably put out something better without doing any research because we have first-hand knowledge and experience on the topic.

I'll give her props, though, for not saying that a notary "authenticates" documents, a phrase that I saw on several websites for notary schools recently. Wink

"Research comparable businesses to determine the best rate to charge".

found this to be an interesting line.......since when di a Notary Public set their own Notarization fees??? those are generally set by the respective states.......................

She lost credibility with the opening sentence:

"A public notary is a person who has authorization to witness signing of legal documents and to administer oaths."

Public notary???? Really?

Also, she left out the step where you're supposed to learn what the loan documents are...
