Interesting call tonight

I no longer do loan signings, but I got a call tonight from someone looking for a notary. His bank had sent him a loan mod with instructions to find a notary and get it back to them no later than 6/16.

He sounded kind of desperate so I agreed to meet him at a Charbucks 5 minutes from my home. I didn't even look at the docs other than to see where a signature and notarization were required. We got it all done in about 5 minutes, and he thanked me several times for saving his butt...

Notarizing 3 documents at $2/sig: $6
Time spent doing this: 15 minutes
Helping someone scrambling to save his home: priceless

Sometimes it ain't all about the money...

Great story, Mike. Yes, it is definitely not always about the money! My motto has always been to put people first, and the money will follow. It has worked for me.
