Just to make something clear
Although I am closing my signing service. I am NOT, repeat NOT, going to give my clients to any other signing service. I can not guarantee they would pay the same fee or as quickly. I am keeping my database of notaries, and will put the title company in contact with a signing agent as required, so the signing agent can work directly with the title company.
So please, signing services that are reading this forum, there is no need to contact me with offers to assist my clients.
Have to post this as I have had offers from signing services willing to help out my clients. I do appreciate the offers, and they may be good signing services. But I can't guarantee them!

Re: Just to make something clear - congratulations on your
retirement. Your Florida Notaries are lucky indeed to have such an advocate for their direct title work.
It's curious, though, that such a successful and renoun signing serice has no trust of other outstanding signing services around the country.

Re: Just to make something clear - congratulations on your
Susie Reading the boards this last year, signing services that were paying well at one time and getting good reviews are not getting the same reviews lately.
I cannot guarantee that another signing service would pay $135 for edocs and $100 for overnight and would send the check out the day after the signing.
I would hate to give my client list to a signing service and then in a few months read that the particular signing service was having problems paying their notaries. I would feel terrible.
The only way I can feel comfortable that the notaries who did signings for me got the same treatment is to be a sort of liaison between them. The only difference is that they will have to wait until the 3 day RTC is over before the title company cuts the check.

Re: Kudos to you Sylvia, and enjoy your retirement!
Thanks Janet et al.
I am still around, so it isn't a big deal
And even though I posted this thread to make it clear I am not passing on my contact list to SS's, I have had others contact me, even Tony PM'd me to see if my list was for sale.
The answer is No, for the reasons I have already given.

Owning a business can be very stressful especially when we were so busy and now that it's so slow it's probably a good time to step down and relax a little. This has to be a load off your shoulders. I wish you the very best and look forward to your continued postings. Take care Sylvia

Your business ethics are much appreciated and rare. I would hope that anyone thinking of starting a SS would take heed of how you did business and treated your notaries. I wish you and Bruce the best in your retirement and look forward to your continued posts here. Here's to your health and happiness!

Kudos for wanting to give the notaries direct contact with you clients - especially since you don't know one day to the next if a signing service will even still be in business. The really good signing services are few and far between. Wishing you the very best in your retirement!

Thanks Sylvia for all you that have done for me. I truly value your expertise, kindness and willing to help others. Wish there were more like you but I think God definitely threw away the mold when he made you. Best wishes to you and yours. Monica

Re: Just to make something clear Monica
Monica You were definitely at the top of the list of my notaries in your area. You always did an extremely professional signing. I was just so sorry that there hadn't been anything in your area for a while.

Why do you not want to give out the names of the companies that you did notary work for? I think that is kind of fishy if you ask me. Do they know that you are retiring?

Leigh I am not giving the names of the companies to other signing services for the reasons I mentioned. Yes, the title companies know that I will find them notaries and let them work directly with the notaries. There is nothing fishy about it. I am not making any money from this, and the notary will be getting the full fee from the title companies. Do you have a problem with that???

And to add to this
I was strictly a Florida signing service, so my decision affects only Florida notaries that have worked for me. It doesn't affect you at all.

So you are giving the title companies names of notaries that you already use or notaries that you find?
Good Luck to you in the future.

Both If they need a notary in a specific area and I don't have one in that area I will find one for them. The reason these title companies used my signing service was that they didn't have the time or manpower to go looking for signing agents themselves - which is why signing services are in existence. I have been a signing service for these title companies since 2003, and they trust me to find someone competent and experienced.
Something I have always done for these title companies if they have asked me for a notary outside of Florida. I have located a notary for them and let them work directly with the notary. Now I will be doing the same for them for Florida notaries.
I will no longer have the hassle of keeping records for the signings for tax purposes etc, as all I will be doing is putting the title company in touch with the right signing agent.
