Loan mod question
On a BOA modification I always get an all purpose acknowledgement from title company with the docs. But, today I got one from a different title company and no all purpose acknowledgement is included. They want me to on the signature page of agreement to sign my name where it says by: date and stamp it.It really has no venue. On top it says The lender and I have executed this agreement. Have any of you done this? I really think I should attach an acknowledgement.

Yes, attach a loose certificate or use a Ack stamp (if you have one) that is what I do.

Whether a loan signing or general notary work, always remember this *principle*: If what "they" want is not compliant with your state's notary laws, then follow your state's notary laws. If that means adding a loose certificate then that's what you do. You can only do what "they" want when what "they" want does not violate your state's notary laws.

I always add my loose certificate.
This is strange because it doesn't have a venue. And, it looks like I would be part of executing the agreement.

You should not sign where it says "By".
That could make you a party to the document. That is illegal in AZ and may also be illegal in Il.
