Nations Direct arrgh
Nations Direct just called me...$60 dollars...40 pages of faxbacks. I told him I can't work for $60 and don't say you'll call me back, because you won't. He said, that's because a lot of other notaries will work for $60. arrgh

I think they just say that and eventually just grab the next notary... time is money for them, too, and they need to get stuff assigned. Stick to your fees. If it ain't profitable, why are you in business?

"If it ain't profitable, why are you in business? "
Should be: If it ain't profitable, HOW are you in business?

Re: Good one, jba/fl
I had the same thing happen to me. They give me their fee. I give them mine. Everything is cool until I give mine and then I get " I will call you back when it is approved". I only thought of it after the click goodbye, but I should have said that I will not do it for the fee I just gave you and if it requires a call back I will have to add $10.00 to my bill. It does not matter, they never call back. Don't let people dictate what you will charge for a closing. If you know that you have to do extra work, don't do it for free. Charge a reasonable rate. As a forner title agent, I know this ruined the business in the 90's. People would call every agency and whittle the title premium down to nothing. Quality work requires fair compensation.

They just called me and I gave them my fee,,,,,$60 signing; $25 e-docs; and $15 doc faxing. I think that is reasonable. They countered with $40 bucks for all. LOL. On top of that they are two star out of five on this website with slow payment problems. I don't do buisiness with two stars. The owner of this business needs to partner with mobile notaries and stop trying to scam and rip them off. If they call me back, I will require payment in advance.
