Need a Recommendation
I've been carrying around a copy of XYZ's "Florida Notary Law Primer" for several years...and I've annotated mine to fix the glaring errors between their primer and the Governor's Manual and FL statutes. However, mine is starting to look really ragged and is falling apart in my hands because I refer to it regularly.
I just looked through Not Rot's Notary Supplies and don't see one here. If there is one, would someone please point me to it. If not, can someone recommend a good, portable, primer? I do carry a copy of the Governor's manual in my car, but sometimes it's nice to be able to pull out the book quickly that gives the reference when I'm in someone's home or office without resorting to trotting in my library!

Pick up a copy of Alfred Piombino's book "Notary Public Handbook, Principles, Practices & Cases". That coupled with the Gov's Manual should work splendidly.

I have Piombinp's book on NY notary law, and it contains errors. He presents himself as an expert, but "caveat emptor"...

Alfred is a Floridian and knows Florida laws very well. I don't doubt there are errors in the individual state books, that's why I recommend the national edition. (I neglected to state "National Edition" in my original post.)

I think Melissa's asking for a small, Florida-specific book. Like the governor's manual in small form. It's a shame that the governor's office doesn't make them. But the ASN makes a good Florida handbook that is pretty accurate IMO. Check that out.

Thank you all.
Yes, Aurelio, I am looking for something small and portable, rather than my bulky binder with the Governor's Manual in it. I will check out both the ASN book and the book recommended by PAW. As far as errors in the book, I do try to keep mine up to date...and I am pretty good about comparing third-party information to the Governor's Manual.
Thank you all again.

Re: Thank you all.
FWIW, I carry a very slim notebook (actually a report folder) after printing the Gov's manual in duplex. (I assembled all the pieces into one PDF file, rather than the 13 or 14 files that is on the state website. You can download it, as well as many other state manuals, from my "download" section of my website http://www.pawnotary.com/download/Manuals_and_Handbooks/ .)

Thanks, Paul.
I'll look at it and possibly print a copy to carry. If I can get the Governor's Manual down to something under 5 pounds, that will be great!
