Sales Tax on Signing Services
Are there any Notaries in PA charging Sales Tax or absorbing Sales Tax for their services performed in Pennsylvania as a Notary Signing Agent? I was told a long time ago that services affiliated with performing duties in connection with notarizations (that's what we do) that our services were not sales taxable. I want to be certain. I need input. You can respond in private if you wish.

I posed this question to my CPA last year and was told no sales tax is required on Notary or signing services. I am in Ca., can not say for sure if this applies in all states.

Pull up: See the Retailers' Information Guide (REV-717) for a list of taxable items.
