re-inking my Vision stamp
I'm trying to re-ink my Vision stamp, but not sure how to open it up without breaking it. I see from the search that most people prefer the stingray over the vision stamp, but my stinkray usually smears when I stamp, and my vision gives clear impressions.

The Vision stamp features an ink cartridge that you need to pop out (or pull out) the back while depressing the stamp just slightly (so the rubber stamp text is not pushing against the inking surface while you're pulling). That cartridge can either be re-inked or replaced. If you have a Vision 100, the instructions should be on the cartridge itself.
Note that it uses water-based ink. Ideal ink is preferred; Trodat and other brands of water-based ink should also be compatible.

Thank you Re: re-inking my Vision stamp
Harry, thank you. I thought that was the way, but didn't want to force it and find out I was mistaken. I got the ink in my shipment yesterday from NR. Just did it and it works great!

Re: water based ink in a notary stamp/seal? what if it gets wet?
Most inks are water based. Even those that are indelible, waterproof, etc. Water is the carrier for the color, The water evaporates leaving the color which is or is not waterproof.
Just finished doing a lot of research on inks for my fountain pens. Peacock Blue has been discontinued but sometimes can find old cartridges on eBay that will have some evaporation going on - add some water, shake, viola! Same for old bottles of ink - bit of water and you are set to write.
If you are really interested I will forward some sites.
