Does anyone utilize Facebook for their business?

I have one for my notary business name....just started...

not too long ago....I'm keeping it separated from my personal FB page...and so far, its been...umm interesting...

but there are certain things about FB I can't stand, like Farmville, Mafia whatever, and any other similiar apps...

haven't done much marketing on it lately....

Are you talking about a paid advertisment?
I advertise on facebook for one of my businesses. Whenever I put an entry in my blog, I talk about it on facebook and twitter

I don't

Hi, Pierce

I post announcements / profiles about my notary services all over the web so you are absolutely right to think about more free ways to get on Google page one.

But I don't use Facebook, etc, because if someone is googling this:
Notary nameofmytown
A facebook link may appear that my potential client has to SIGN IN to be able to access my info.

Puh-lease. Who's gonna do that?

I think FB and the other sites are getting worse this way.

They seem to want to get you in and then lock the door behind you so you live on SpaceBook.

ummmm......no.

CraigsList.com
HotFrog.com
ActiveRain.com

My biggest helpers.

Good luck! LauraV

I keep getting fan requests from Notary Assurance on FB

and it's annoying as heck. I have a personal FB and that's all I want.

keep in mind - free networking & marketing...I believe

its worth it - definitely if it means u get biz from other FB 'friends of friends' or whatever...

I'll let you all know how it goes in a month or two....

FB for business

I built a couple of FB pages for the Notary business, since it is free. So far I have found that the only people it seems to pull in are other Notaries and companies selling stuff to Notaries.

I think we all have too much free time in the last couple of months!

I do....but not my notary business...my tax business. I don't think you are supposed to use regular Facebook to advertise. You are supposed to have a FAN page. Here is mine:
