Re: Anyone done an automotive signing for Maverick Signings?

yes, do a search here, you will find info, also check signing central. pay in 30 days, decent fees, not too time consuming.

I know its 'easy' work...but the fee they offer vs the

distance (more than 10 miles from my office base) is not worth me going out...

Sorry, can't afford to work for $70 bucks...

But good its working out for you ILsigning...

Re: I know its 'easy' work...but the fee they offer vs the

I think the "10 mile" thing also depends on where you live. 2 years ago, if someone asked me to travel 10 miles for $70.... forget it. Driving in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles is a nightmare, and a 10 mile drive could take an hour or more. Anything over half a mile takes strategic planning.

But, where I live now? No problem. The only thing getting in my way out here are tumbleweeds. A 10 mile drive takes just a few minutes and is a normal fact of life in the desert.

I have done 2 for them, each paid 70 but they are almost next door to me and take 10 min if that. They also pay within 30 days

Marian, Is this title transfer work?

If so, that may be why Tx notaries don't talk about this much. No longer need a notary for title transfers.

Re: Marian, Is this title transfer work?

Nope... it's actually loan paperwork. Usually co-signers for vehicle loans, and nothing like real estate loans.

Plus, loan paperwork is overnighted from the dealer.

Marian...thanks..I should have known that!

No excuse, but I was really tired when I asked that question.

I've done these for rec vehicles myself! But not through Maverick.

I have done two for them - in my own neck of the woods. Pay without hassle - easy work. Will take all I can get from them. Took about 5 or 6 minutes to complete and all the forms are marked showing where they need to sign.

Re: Anyone done an automotive signing for Maverick Signings?

So I just went to the Maverick Signings website to get a little more information. Have any of you who have done a signing for Maverick paid for the training? They have a special intro offer of $29 for the "certification". Is this something that could be worth spending the money on, or should it be something to pass on? It does sound like it could be a nice way to expand my business but I am not sure if it is worth the money.

Re: Anyone done an automotive signing for Maverick Signings?

Pretty great payback if they are paying signings at even $70.....and your investment was $30?
Paid for in less than 1 signing. Good rate of return!

Yes, when I first became a Notary. No, IMHO, it is not necessary to pay $29 for a certification. I have worked with Maverick for automotive signings on more than one occasion. They paid me within 25 days, you must sign and fax back an agreement which was just things that are SOP (standard operating procedure), i.e. be on time, dress professionally, etc., etc. and so forth.

The appointments took about 10 - 15 mins. The only paper I remember notarizing the signature on was an affidavit of the buyers identity. The other papers are overnighted as they are forms with carbons in between the copies.

It's been awhile since I've completed one but I'd take all I can get.

Re: Anyone done an automotive signing for Maverick Signings?

What was your responsibility after the docs were signed? Did you have to go to the Motor Vehicle Dept. and file anything? Or, after everything was completed, the other person was responsible for taking care of everything?

Re: Anyone done an automotive signing for Maverick Signings?

Usually, you just drop them off in the FedEx envelope that is provided for you. The paperwork is usually sent overnight directly from the dealer.

Re: Anyone done an automotive signing for Maverick Signings?

Thanks Marian. Several years ago someone told me that part of the job was going to the Motor Vehicle Dept. and getting something filed. I don't remember what it was but whatever it was, totally turned me off from that type of transaction. Maybe I'll look into it now.

Maverick Signings

Thank you everyone for all your feedback. I just joined Notary Rotary today although I have been a notary signing agent for seven years. I appreciate the information everyone sent and the opportunity to have this discussion forum. Thanks again.

Re: Maverick Signings

I've done a couple for them, but it's been a few years. They called me on Friday to do an automotive signing for yesterday and offered $70. I said $75 and they accepted. So, I confirmed with the borrower and told him 1pm, pending receipt of docs.

The docs never came. I contacted Maverick at noon and again at 2pm for information. She only emailed once and said she didn't have a tracking number but would try to find out. I didn't hear anything after that until last night at 7pm when I emailed her to say that no docs had ever come nor had anyone gotten back to me to let me know what was going on, so I would be faxing an invoice to them for $25 for a non-cancellation fee.

She emailed back and said the signing would still have to be done when the docs come in.
Sure...but she hired me for Monday and it's no longer Monday. I waited around a good chunk of the day on the docs. What an inconvenience.
