sounds great to me...I'm still waiting for payment for two closings in January.....This is very unusual as they always paid on time...

I am also awaiting money for signings I did at the beginning of January. I have e-mailed them but I have gotton no response. Notaries provide a service and most of these compnaies are paid within 10-14 days. Notarry money should not be held up for 30-60 days. We should get paid withing 10-14 days as well. I understand The NNA was working on legislation to get Notaries, Home Inspectors, and Appraisers paid in a timely manner. I wonder what happened to that?

As far as I know and IME home inspectors and appraisers are both paid up front - of the three the notaries are the only ones who wait til after the fact. And it's been that way for a very long time.

All due respect but just a thought here..

if you're all owed money...months past due...why wait til April? Shouldn't you be "boycotting" now?

Just sayin'....

No kidding, right?

If somebody screws me over, I'm not going to say "I'm only gonna grab my ankles for you for 4 more weeks!"

This company is clearly having major problems. Anyone with an ounce of common sense shouldn't be boycotting, they should be through with them for good.

You guys may want to quit while you're ahead

It's not just mere coincidence that so many people are suddenly being stiffed by this company. Something is seriously wrong over there.

Congratulations, unfortunately there are many of us that can't same the same thing. I've been informed that I won't even get my check mailed for Nov/Dec 09 closings until 3/22/10. Count yourself one of the lucky ones.

Re: I am NOT participating. I am current for all signings

After the last several days of posts about them I may be a little leery of accepting another assignment, meet my fee or not. I did turn one down last week due to time conflict, and I guess that may prove to be a good piece of luck as well. Seems things are going south as they say!

That's what I thought about a month ago...

They caught up and brought me current except for a couple of items where there was some confusion because I'd had to make more than one trip under the same job number, at their request. So I accepted a bunch of signings in early Feb., just before it got really bad. So now the total I'm owed is over $800 -- from multiple lenders, including a couple of subsidiaries.

I guess we just need to hope that enough people continue to get fooled into taking their assignments so that they can generate enough cash flow to pay us what is owed. I hope business picks up enough in the spring for them to catch up, but I'd have to think long and hard about ever accepting any more assignments from them. I've been accepting some very local modifications, where I have nothing to print, can schedule them to fit my schedule and go there on my way somewhere else. I figured at least I wouldn't be forking up for out-of-pocket costs. But at this point, I think I'm better off spending the time looking for new clients!

Also, it appears to me that they are implementing some type of rotation, paying a few people at a time, hoping they can keep enough people working for them to keep their clients, keep their employees and to keep their doors open. What a shame! Frown

I'm also boycotting this month, and May, June, and July. Until I hear they are back to paying everyone on time, I will not work for them. I had 14 people ask me how I got them to pay me, and I have yet to hear if it worked for them.

Good grief

I'm way ahead of you. I boycotted them the instant they lowered their fees (about 3 years ago).
I will not do the same work for $35 less dollars just because they decided they don't want to pay me so much.
Now...three years later, mismanaged money, bad management...or whatever...and now, they don't have money to cover their notary fees?
Well...fortunately, I told them to take me out of their database so they'd stop calling me. No outstanding invoices in my A/R file from NREIS.
Boycott them if you want. You should've done it years ago.

exactly that. How many more times do we have to hear the same old same old--
"I'm having a hard time getting my money" song? All a bid redundant.

I started in March!! SLS too!

They called yesterday NREIS and SLS to try to get me to do two closings. Said "sure, right after you pay me for all the loans I did in Jan and Feb.". They answered my emails and said my checks were being cut on February 26th (SLS for Jan closing) and March 8th (NREIS Jan closings). We shall see! In the meantime ......so sorry for you NREIS and SLS!!
