CREEPY!! Speedy Signing & Title - New Jersey

Hey! I'M REALLY CREEPED-OUT!! Does anyone have experience with Speedy? I got a warm call from these people for a signing job in my area, but somebody else got it before I returned their call. Just before I was about to push the button to register with them, I called their listed telephone numbers. However, I kept getting disconnect messages?????

HARRY, IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PLEASE TELL ME THAT ALL OF THE COMPANIES IN "SIGNING CENTRAL ARE LEGIT! ARE WE ALL GETTING "PHISHED" BY SUBMITTING OUR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION TO BOGUS SIGNING COMPANIES ON THE INTERNET? I WANNA HEAR FROM ALL OF YOU!

I've worked for Frank and crew in the past...they can be less than 'speedy' on payment, but they are legitimate. Being from the west and very laid back, they talka bazillion miles an hour and sometimes that can be off-putting, but I've never had issues with them...NM tends to be the 'land of manana' and we don't get it too much of a hurry Smile

Ditto--Speedy is a legit company--if that was, in fact, who

was calling you.

It seems like all I do lately is defend signing companies...

I have been doing signings for Speedy for several years. Usually only one or two a month.

They are a little slow in the pay department but very nice to work with. If I do not get a check when I think I should I just call Frank or Ron, give a little nudge and always get my check within a few days.

I've worked with them too. Very "not speedy" on payment, and yes, I think they need to update phone numbers. :-/ I had that trouble when I was chasing a payment.

I received a call from them today as well for and signing in my area. I accepted it even with the mixed reviews. I am new to this business and need all the experience that I can get. We have a great court system here for collecting bad debts

They will pay you--they just sometimes need reminders. On the plus side, they're good about getting you docs and don't babysit or patronize. Smile

Ron told me a month ago the check is in the mail. I have contacted them several times by phone and email with no reply. I did three closings for them and they have not paid for any. One is from December. I will be taking further collection actions against them. Also, they are the rudist company I have delt with.

Re: Signing Central

I don't know anything about Speedy Signing, but I have to say that I doubt very much that Notary Rotary would want to be - nor should they be - responsible for the legitimacy of any company listed on Signing Central. I believe that's what the rating system is for.

There are several ways, thanks to this site, that we can check out companies. One it to look at the rating itself (there was a post about how meaningful that is or isn't very recently), you can then read the linked comments, and finally, you can do an actual search of the forum for info about that company. (Of course, there is also the entire internet at our disposal for further searches.) After that, it's up to each of us to make our own decisions and decide what risks we want to take working for any given company.

Yes I have done closings for them many times and won't any more. They pay so slow I could walk to their company 300 miles away and get paid faster. I am still waiting for a guaranteed payment in January to be paid the end of January. Yeah right!!!!

I just did a closing for them. I noticed in their confirmation you have to "submit a single invoice at the END of each month detailing all completed closings..." So I have to hold on to and remember to fax at the END of the month my invoice? Never heard of this before. The confirmation is usually your invoice! It also states that "invoices will be honored on or about the 30th of the month following the completed closing (ie., if you close a loan on May 15th, you will be paid on or about June 30th for your May 15th closing). Individual invoices for each job completed are not acceptable." I told them I don't do closings unless I am paid within 30 - 45 days from closing. No exceptions. That is crazy to have to hold an invoice to fax until the end of the month and then wait 6 or more weeks to get paid!
