Fax back entire loan package

I just got a call from Nations Direct to do a signing today in my hometown. They met my fee and then she said our new policy is you have to fax back EVERY page ot the B of A loan. I asked if she was serious and she said yes. I told her what I would charge to fax back around 125 pages and she said she could not do that. I wished her good luck. Has anyone else had this call from them?

yes and they would not meet my fee. In general I think that ND never meets the fees, you we're very lucky that they agreed to your fee but does not surprise me that you couldn't get them go higher for the faxback.

I live in Northern Indiana and they have called me on occasion too. I, in fact, took a job from them. When I realized that they wanted ALL of the docs faxed back I called them back and told them that I don't offer that service. They obviously found someone else, but how can anyone make any money when you have to spend an additional hour faxing? It's ridiculous if you ask me. I have done other refi's with BOA and never had to fax back the entire package.

That is typical of them. That, and not meeting my fee.

Ever wondered how they can go on with those low fees but there must be some out there that do it ... I wonder how long it takes them to realize that they are not making any profit unless they see that a check for so many dollars will come in at the end of the month and they are stupid enough not to clculate their cost versus income.

Dunno ... it is a mistery to me

but than I look at life on the bright side and next week thursday I am leaving for a long long weekend in the sun ... Smile

Don't you love it when these notorious low-ball companies

decide that there is a new requirement by "their policy" that they aren't willing to
pay for. IME these same companies can hire large staffs of "babysitters" to cover the fact that they don't pay enough to hire competent people in the first place. Baffles me--bad business IMO.

the question is ... how do you make them stop?

I'm seeing discrepancies in instructions...

I'm being told in some BofA loans "fax back the entire package" - in other BofA loans, fax back "some pages" or "just a few pages".

Re: I'm seeing discrepancies in instructions...ME TOO!

I've done many BOA loans that don't require any faxbacks at all. Then there are some that go 35-50 pages. I think it's dependent on the TC....I doubt BOA wants any at all.

Makes no sense. After we fax back whatever they want

we drop the pkg. They are not requiring us to "hold onto" the pkg for approval before we drop them. So... if there is a mistake in the pkg, its too late to get it corrected because we have already dropped it. Just what does this accomplish with faxing????

Makes some sense.

I'm guessing that somewhere in this muddled process, somebody has to scan a whole package for 'file'. By having us do that 'little thing', they don't have to as most 'big co. fax numbers' actually go into a computer as a pdf file.

When you can mail the entire package "next day" there is no excuse for faxing back the ENTIRE loan package. I can't even imagine the time something like that would take! And what good does a bunch of bad copies of the loan package do for them anything. Wouldn't they want the originals?

Yeah, ND is probably low balling everyone in order to stay in business! I refused a job in the Seattle/Tacoma, Wa area for that reason. I've been in business for 13 years and this is the first I've heard of FAXING the entire package. STUPID! DON'T START THIS PRACTICE! Perhaps, ND and/or BofA have had some bad experiences with "rookie" signers?

Do they use any other kind for only $50-$65/signing? You get what you pay for.

ND is notarious low baller and so far, the most anyone mentioned that ND has offered is $70. You accept $70 for a loan signing?

I am located in rural KY and ND agreed to my local fee of $100. Then she told me of the new policy.

I can see if it's investment property AND there's a lock issue. My usual reply is to let the SS or TC know that I have back to back signings, and I will commit to get the package dropped in today's fed ex but I cannot commit to faxing until very late. My contacts usually let me drop and mark my fed ex for early delivery. If it's not investment property or a purchase sale, they have to wait 3 days anyway, especially over the weekend. Get the docs dropped and on their doorstep by Monday am! Good grief ....all these requirements that are nonsense!
