NREIS -
So...I finally got a hold of someone who could tell me where my January checks are - her response - any signings completed from January 12 - January 26 were cut on the January 30th run; however, they will NOT be mailed until March 22 (?????). So, I ask - how about the closings I completed in February - her response - don't know when they will be cut or when they will be mailed....

Re: NREIS - translation...
We cut the checks but there's no money to cover them yet.

I sure wish my utility companies would be so understanding.
"Dear SoCal Edison, this note is to let you know that I've written you check #2157 for $200.43. I wrote it last month, and it's sitting on my desk, ready to mail. I will mail it 3 weeks from now."

Re: NREIS - translation...
Dear Marian Customer: Your power is temporarially cut off. When you mail that check, be sure to include a fee for turning this service back on. Without that, we cannot turn it back on.
Since you will have other billings on top of the $200.43 that has not been billed yet, make sure you check with our billing department to get the exact amount due.
Unless you are paid to date at the time of reconnection, there will be no reconnection. We also will require at that time a new deposit for your account of $500.00. Add this into your check also.
Sincerely yours,
SoCal Edison "Our progress is your responsibility"

It would be if there weren't a grain or two of truth to this.

True, but sometimes it helps to add some humor to a bad situation of which you have a unique talent of doing.

I posted the same message below (325130 & 325135), only my payments are for Nov & Dec, and didn't know when I would get Jan & Feb.. To those that continue accepting closings, your tempting fate, I ignored everyones warnings about LFC and kept accepting closings because they met my fees, well all I can do is blame myself for getting stiffed because I wouldn't llisten. The writing was on the wall and I wouldn't pay attention to those telling me to bailout either, I was stiffed for 10 closings and the last 2 were purchase closings within 48 hours of them locking their doors. I'm really hoping that NREIS mails that check on 3/22/10 and it clears the bank, at least that's the majority of the money that they owe me. I turned down 8 closings in February and will continue to refuse their work even after they pay me in full.

Has anyone thought of taking these slow payers to a collection agency?

I don't know what is going on with you guys. I received payments through 2-12-10. SLS is a sister company. Talk to Jason in scheduling.

consider yourself fortunate. payments are spotty - some have been paid, some haven't. I personally have spoken to Jason several times, another person (can't remember the name) and emailed Andrea. Various responses received, none satisfactory. I am owed for two signings. Check has been cut since end of January but not mailed....same story.

What they are really saying is that they are using your money that they get when the loan funds, to pay their overhead. That they do not have the capital to be in business. They will take the next notary’s money to pay the past due notary. Sort of a notary financed Ponzi scheme. Anyone that chances to work for people this far in the hole will eventually get burned. JMO

I've done lots for them.
They owe me for a couple.
But, they are at the end of the line with me.
No more....until they clean up their payment act or most likely go out of business.

This is the same co. that has a 3-strike policy for agents.
I tend to use a 3-strike policy for payment issues also. We're extending credit to these folks. IMO it's prudent to set credit limits (like 3-4 signings until payment is received). From the daily posts, it is obvious that NREIS is having cash-flow issues. They are a huge company with lots of people on the payroll. You can be sure their employees won't wait 60-90 days to be paid.

NREIS and SLS jerking me around too
They confirmed they will send checks (SLS on Feb. 26th, NREIS March 8th) after I emailed them for January closings. I am not taking ANY jobs from either of them anymore. Here is who you email for NREIS: [e-mail address].
