NREIS

Just wanted to give a positive update on NREIS. I completed 2 signings in Dec and a modification in Jan. I have continue to receive calls, and I always remind the schedular that I have outstanding invoices. I received payment for the upon today. After reading the comments on yesterday, I almost canceled a signing for Monday. Granted they are taking longer to pay us but they are paying JMO.

Are they picking and choosing? In Feb I got paid thru 12/31/09. I still have a few outstanding invoices.

Not too long ago there was a company

who in the past had been stellar. As time went by small things started happening and promises weren't kept and dates were missed and checks bounced, there were those on this board who defended every problem as a hiccup not a symptom. Till one day the news came that the company had to shutter the door and leave a whole lot of folks out in the cold penniless and peeved.

The people who missed the symptoms then came and started to wonder what happened? What happened is very simple. They didn't believe what they saw with their eyes and instead hoped for the best and got burned by their hopes.

Good luck and as Kenny Rogers sang "you've got to know when to hold them and no when to fold them" That's gonna be the tricky part.

It was Coven, William Jack.

Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Re: Not too long ago there was a company

Major General Frederick "Boots" Blesse wrote the manual "No Guts, No Glory" a fighter tactic book which has been in use as a basis for fighter combat operations since 1955.

my mom loves Kenny Rogers and that is one of her fav songs..

and I agree with Phillip...

.....I can't understand why anyone is still working for this company and/or why they are fine with waiting 30, 60, 90, 180+ days out for their money

.....are you charging interest???

......is it because 'the company is good for it'.... or 'they always paid, late, but at least they paid' mentality.

......and of course this line of thinking just has to stop!

......folks seems to me its about time to let NREIS go down the toilet or circle the toilet (I forget which one), by themselves and NOT take your money with them....

.....plain and simple...not worth the time and effort with collecting your money....

....yes, it will mean missing out on some biz, but in the end, you are opening up your schedule to other profitable SS companies....

RIP NREIS...IMO...

I am very conflicted about this whole thing.
Nreis has been one of my good companies for ever so long, no problems,
I am not a big one on late payments as long as I am paid in a reasonable time and sometimes in an unreasonable time, as long as I am paid.
So when the smoke signals went out and calls came in for a little distance I turned them down. Then I got a call for close by and told them I couldn't take it because of all the bad vibes going out AND got no arguement at all. I did apologize and said they had been a good customer in the past BUT.
Then where I am conflicted comes in, being the idiot I am, I figure me turning down a couple of jobs in my little corner of the world is seriously contributing to their demise. Guilt!!!!
I really know better, but I truly hope they can make it through this burp and come out of it without having to turn into bottom feeders.

Maureen, I can empathize with you.

I had many of the same thoughts you have.

In my opinion, this would an ideal time for NREIS to send out a letter or email to its key notaries - the ones the company has sent a lot of business to over the years, and explain, in writing, their current state of affairs. Explain why payments have been late in the recent past. Advise what's being done to rectify the problem. State their committment to be trustworthy business partners, and then do what they say they're going to do. It would go a long way with me.

Unfortunately, we're left with making decisions based on what hear from others, and according to my mother's favorite judge, Judge Judy, "that's heresay!".

I have two unpaid invoices from them. In this current economic downturn I cannot afford to add a 3rd one to the list.

But Michelle, they would be words just words.

Using your suggestion to send letters to their "key" notaries one could deduce that they are using the work of the other notaries to keep the key ones happy.

Which leads me to wonder did Mr. Madoff get work release and report to work?

Re: But Michelle, they would be words just words.

I'm sure that we all can appreciate a letter telling us that they aren't really planning to rip us off, meanwhile that's exactly what they are doing. Come on Philip, you know that good intentions are what counts anymore, not what they are actually doing. They would only be emulating the leaders of the country, no harm in that is there?

I wonder

How many of their other vendors are accepting these type arrangements? I would think that many would put them on a cash only basis. I am sure that the NSA's are not the only ones. It would be interesting to know if they still have coffee services to their building(s), the office supplies are fully stocked, phone service has been downsized, and so on.

Re: I wonder

LOL. As a former employee of Mother Bell, and the survivor of 9 "downsizings", the first sign that your office is closing is when they remove the rent-a-plants. Coffee service is next.

So what you might be saying is that

the next person here that gets a call should ask them if they still have plants in their offices and how's the coffee?

Someone, please - and then report back.

My bet is on mufph, glumph....any takers?

"I figure me turning down a couple of jobs in my little corner of the world is seriously contributing to their demise. Guilt!!!!"

Not trying to be harsh, but how are you adding to their demise by not giving them your services potential for free? Where do you owe it to anyone to risk yourself financially for the benefit of a company that is definitely demonstrating that they are in serious financial trouble?

Here is one example: This company put out fraudulent 1099's for last year by writing checks in December that they had no intention of mailing. I certainly didn't appreciate having to address that issue with the IRS by having to write a letter and providing proof that I never receive the money they claimed. If Jason hadn't sent that email showing that they still had those Dec checks in their possession and would be mailing them on March 22, 2010 I would be paying taxes on money I never received. However, it's my understanding now that the March 22 mailing has been delayed. Regardless, this is creative accounting procedures that is unacceptable by anyones standards.

I have worked with this company since 2001, but I'm finished with them and if I get paid that will be great (however I believe that is very doubtful at the moment). Right now they continually call me for closings, they haven't paid me since November 15, 2009, but they still want me to increase my receivables while they evade payment. Their payables never seem to decrease (judging from the posts on this forum) except on rare occasion to an exclusive few. If a company can't afford to pay their IC's we don't owe it to them to contribute to their ponzi scheme.

But to those NSA's that want to keep accepting closings from them and ignore the obvious go ahead. Who knows maybe the money they earn from your endeavors will be used to pay me sometime in the near future.
