Oh..one more thing...for today.
One more thing my NSA family. .all that hand holding must stop! (I’ll probably never get another assignment after this but…) An independent contractor (us) gets an assignment and does the job and gets paid, period!
When a SS tells you how to do the job, they are exercising “behavioral control” over what you’re doing. That’s fine, accept it makes you an employee instead of an independent contractor. Why is it important? If they are telling you how to do the job (hand-holding, liability agreements, etc) then you are an employee and should be having medical benefits, fed and state taxes paid by the SS.
Each one of you must make that call, that’s what I did and I won. As Michael told the judge, “he won’t do what we tell him”. Give me the job but don’t tell me how to do it!

What I noticed-
the agreed upon fee directly coincides with the amount of hand holding. The higher the fee, the less hand holding. The companies that pay the low fees - call and micro-manage, cross their fingers and hope they get correctly completed documents returned. The companies that hire the experienced signing agent and are willing to pay their fee, expect the job done with minimum follow-up. The ole' "you get what you pay for" philosophy.
