Passport Verification
I purchased and use two different ID Verification books. I think I got one from NotRot and the other from elsewhere. One book has examples of US State ID cards and Driver Licenses. The other book is for International ID Cards & Licenses. The books are helpful and letting me know what type of information is normally captured on the cards.
Is there a book out there with examples of passports? I'm seeing more and more passports as a form of ID, and to be honest, I wouldn't know what one from from Kazakstan would even look like. I'm not saying I want to be an ID card expert or a fraud police. I don't. But if someone were to hand me a pink US passport I would know something was awry and would request a different type of ID.
Again, I'm only interested in a color photo book with examples of passports. Haven't Googled it yet. Starting my search with my colleagues.

Are you in an area that gets lots of foreign visitors or foreign nationals who are working in the US?
There are a few nations' passports that show up in Connecticut frequently, mostly India, Canada, England. Having seen many of those, I'm confident that I'd recognize a different passport.
The biggest issue is passports that have been tampered with (photo replaced, etc.). I'm much more concerned about "damaged" passports than those that have been created from scratch. The suspect passports that I've seen have not looked high enough quality. I'm not saying that they had been forged, but I've just refused the notarizations.
