Payment from NREIS

FYI..I received 2 checks today from NREIS. They are dated 2/17/10. I cashed them at a big box store for $2.00 this is cheaper than a check that may be kicked back..Good luck..I only wished someone would have told me when checks were going out. Sad that we can't get a definite answer!

90+ days aged check.

That check would not be accepted at my bank...hence, the payment would still be at $0.

When a company issues checks with the dates 90+ days by the time it reaches recipient that this is a big warning sign....perhaps the most desperate attempt I know of to appear to be paying when they surely know (if they have a whit of business sense) that the check is non-negotiable in modern banking lobbies. Not saying this about NREIS, just about business in general. That's my opinion about companies issuing 90+ day checks and I'm sticking to it like glue.

I wonder how those big box stores get their money if someone like NREIS issued a bad check. Just curious.

I would think that if those stores get a bad check they have a collection company working for them or they turn it over for prosecution ... I guess they would handle that check just as they handle a bad check from a customer in store ...

Since the person cashing the check provides their contact info and the check was written to them they probably go after the person cashing the check to get their money. I don't believe that third party's are allowed to pursue the person/company that issued the check. JMO, not giving legal advice.

I don't know why anyone would jump to the conclusion that the checks aren't any good.

Ask Claudine that question.

Otherwise she would have just tripped down to her friendly local bank and put it in her account.

Re: Ask Claudine that question.

I cashed that check there as a precaution. I was advised by the manager that they would go after the issuing party IF there is a problem with the check..They do cash payroll and other checks there!
