Printer Question
I have not taken time to do a search, but will do so after I get back from a signing. Don't remember seeing this problem before, but I may have missed it. I have a Brother HL-5140 with an installed second tray. Right before the end of the year, my computer died, and I replaced it, so I am now using Windows 7. This particular printer was not compatible with W7, so I downloaded new drivers. My problem is that even though it is being told to do so, the printer does not always recognize mixed letter/legal files. I just printed a loan package from an email with several pdf files attached. Small files with mixed pages (around 15 pages total) printed just fine. The loan package which was 70 pages printed on all legal size paper. Checked the page sizes of the package and my printer settings before printing borrower copies, and couldn't see anything amiss. What am I missing???? Should I uninstall the printer and drivers and start over? I have a feeling that this is a pretty simple fix and I just can't see it. Any suggestions or advice will be appreciated. TIA

You might want to check to see that the paper source is mixed - could it be that the file was scanned to all legal?
Otherwise, I don't know. Will wait w/you for one of our resident gurus to answer as I have the same set up, only still using XP.

One of the first things I did was check the thumbnails of the package - that showed mixed pages. I didn't have this problem with XP, just since my upgrade. Other than this, I really like Windows 7....ain't technology grand?
