So Unprofessional
Did a closing tonight and the docs came to me all marked with "X"'s everywhere for the borrower to sign. It looked horrible and so unprofessional. I was embarassed to even have the borrowers sign them. It wouldn't have been so bad if they were typed X's but they are handwritten sloppy big, little and everywhere in between. The only excuse for this is that they have to do this because they hire people who don't know what the h*** they are doing. I'm sure this will be my 1st and last time with this company because of other miscommunications from the start. I held my ground on the fee and they agreed but didn't like it and sure let me know that they are putting a DNC for their fee in my profile. So be it. It is what it is. From what I saw tonight, its probably a good thing because I absolutley hated what I saw tonight. I was made to feel like a child and didn't appreciate it one bit. It sure is sad though that they have to do this.

Yes, I see in the instructions ALL the time, including "samples" to sign both places on the HUD/VA Addendum. It is a shame that there are too many people out here who don't know what the H#$l they're doing. It's a nuisance to get so many instructions & endure so much babysitting.

I don't know why not, but the idea of the X's does not bother me much. Seems like it's a natural thing for some to do. I just get them signed and don't take it personally.

Well, I can say that I agree with Linda and Brenda. While I do get frustrated to see *sloppy* X's on the paperwork it is very easy for the borrower to see where they need to sign. Besides X's are sooooo rare that I just go with it.
On the other hand those "flags" pasted all over the borrower's signature lines that must be moved before they can sign bug the crap out of me!
And, Linda, I once felt the same way: "Don't these people think I know what I am doing!" or "Who the heck did they hire to do the last one?!" I don't let it bother me anymore because this is just how some TC's do it, and it is so rare. Don't sweat it. Have a great day! Tonya

I KNOW what you mean! Had one this past Saturday with all the "x" throughout most of the package. This was for a purchase. Present were the single borrower, loan officer and realtor. Initially, I was embarrassed by those x's. Felt parties might think I didn't know my job. Then, when I found a few spots they had missed marking, we were all able to joke about it. In the end, both the LO and realtor thanked me for my professionalism and being knowledgeable on the whole process.
Lesson learned: Be the professional you are in all things you do.

Bring on the x's!!!!!!!!!
Guess you closed one of the nice 5/3rd's on 8.5 x 11.
I have NO problem with the handwritten x's and I DO know what the H*** I'm doing.
Nor do I take the x's personally......bring 'em on.
