What's new in Notary Land

It has been a few months since I posted here. Since then I've made money working the corporate world, not as much fun as owning my business but since the refi melt down I need to pay the bills.

I still get calls from some loyal well paying clients and if I can fit them in I do it. Most times someone local to me has been getting my left overs.

Maybe I'm wrong but from what I've read business is still very bad in most areas and alot more companies going belly up.

Things are picking up just a tiny bit in NJ, I'm hanging in hoping it will get better soon

VERY slow in my area of VA - working on getting myself a regular job for a more steady income, as you did. Then will be choosy taking the higher/faster paying jobs like you do! Hope all is well in NJ!

More empty storefronts along the Coast here. Still

busy enough for me, though.

I sure don't envy you having to go back to the 'other' CW (Corporate World), Wink and it's so cool you still get to keep your finger in the pie once in a while - your clients are so lucky, and I'm heartened that they know it.

Keep well and blessing to you and yours.

In general, things are nuts and good

I'll have days in a row without an appointment. Then I'll schedule other things including driving out of town then suddenly the phone starts ringing and I'm busy again.

That's OK because I'm launching another business this Saturday so I have been rushing to get the new website up, etc. I fall into bed exhausted, not tired, and mostly have a lot fun. (Except when wrestling with computers. Ugh.)

My new website isn't LOLcats.com but it is pretty darn funny. Lots of pics of happy babies and funny pugs. The product is cool, too.

And I have another couple of projects going. When I will find time to move to a townhouse this spring I have no clue but it will happen.

Lots of partnership marketing involved, including a couple of notary clients. I still refuse to work for LOs, TCs, and SSs. I'm so happy I left all that. I do lots of real estate work but my clients bring the paperwork to me after they have read it so any "errors" have probably been spotted and resolved. I print out docs for clients a couple of times a year. The last time, the HUD had lots of "errors." The purchase price, loan terms, and the fact that the guy was happy because he just bought a new pick up truck resulted in the borrower simply agreeing to all the junk fees.

Would someone please sleep for me?

"I still refuse to work for LOs, TCs, and SSs. I'm so happy

I left all that"! Interesting statement Laura. So, how do you get work, Real Estate in particular?

Internet guerilla marketing, referrals, and lots of elbow gr

elbow grease.

Sorry - too tired to say more now.

Read my post times and you'll see why.

Do a search here for LauraV and marketing. You'll see lots of good stuff. I'm into it.

Good luck!
