annoyed...
when a notary does a great job and then someone has to find a reason why they didn't. geeze, when i get a set of loan docs back and no signatures/seals are missed and everything i requested is there, i'm on cloud nine. i consider that a great job! BUT since the world isn't made of lollipops and gum drops...someone has to find a problem with what the notary did or didn't do. recent example...i get an email from a client that "the notary told the borrower they don't need to get their wiring information because the settlement agent with send you a check" i was shocked that the notary would say that and confirmed the story. come to find that the borrower told the notary she didn't have wire information because recently her bank information was stolen and hadn't received the new information yet. the notary reminded her that the settlement agent can cut a check. pish posh

i'm both a settlement agent and a notary...i see it from many sides! i've seen half a$$ work from notaries get away with being a half a$$er and great notaries get the ringer.

pish posh?
LOL Jessica!
I haven't heard that one in donkey's years!
And it was 2 decades of donkey's years ago when my grandmum said it!

Pish posh, indeed. Still, keeping notes is handy as a
shirt on a pocket in business. Document the file, as we used to say.
Their word against ours, but, we we communicate promptly and effectively, it serves to support our work ethic. Most on-line completion reports have a place to report any observations, questions, borrower comments/concerns, etc. - a great place to note any floobies of the signing.
I've been caught in that web, where borrowers claimed one thing, and my experience was something completely different. I like being the first reporter.
Ah, the pish posh we must endure...sigh.

Agree Susan - I also like being the first reporter.
And I note it all - if they don't sign something and why, check(s) being returned w/docs and where it(they) are located in pkg, whether smooth or bumpy and why; if the LO was called, if BO's respected, were happy with LO, ad infinitum, ad nauseum.
2nd in as many days, Susie! You're on a roll!
