Got a call from ND went like this…….
Scheduler : Got a signing in S.F. are you avail?
Me: Yes
Scheduler: One Doc, $30.00
Me: One Doc? S. F.?
Scheduler: Yes!
Me: Never heard of a one Doc signing, but if you really want me too I’ll
Do it for $60.00.
Scheduler: I’ll have to get it approved.
Call back: I’m sending you the confirmation for the loan Docs…
Me: What loan Docs? You said 1 Doc ..
Call back: Ooh, she mean one set of loan Docs, 30 pages
Me: Ooh yea? Well I meant $160.00.…..click!

Great response to them. These lowballers will do anything they can to deceive. Another cute one they do is to ask if you are available for a closing and as soon as you say, "yes", they try to avoid any other conversation and tell you they are sending right over.
This site as well as 1-2 others are so great to use to exchange info.

You're so right. I'll give them credit for getting their technique down. They do seem to know what works. That's why - unless it's a good client I'm familiar with - I usually say "It depends..." instead of "Yes", and then proceed to ask a bunch of questions.

I take the same approach, Janet. Some callers are quite suprised by the questions, but how can you come up with a quote for services if you don't have all the details?
