I went out and talked to FedEx and UPS drivers in my area in three different cities and they all said about the same thing regarding such an error. They (seven) told me if they get a misplaced envelope in a drop box that belongs to their company, they either put it in the correct drop box or take it to their dispatch location. If it is on the receive end and on their route, they will deliver it because there is an additional fee they get for doing so. Good news, here anyway!

I'm not surprised. These companies are competitive, but they do work together when needed.

I have done this as well. Although there was 1 day of panic and angry calls the package arrived at title with only a 1 day delay.
