Great Closing last night - Thank You
Being fairly new to this, I took a break from closings to learn more. I read up on this forum, asked some questions, and made a new friend. If you are new and can find someone to help you, sometimes a 15 minute phone call is all you need to give you all the confidence you need to walk into a closing as if you had a thousand of them under your belt. It wasn't my first, but I treated it as if it were. Forgetting all the learned bad habits and starting from scratch.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone on this board for your wonderful help and to Sid in TX for taking time out of your busy day to speak to me, give me pointers and convince me that I was going to do great! Sometimes a little encouragement makes all the difference.
I went into a closing last night and they had no idea I was a newbie. Even got an email from NVS this morning that the borrower called the lender this morning raving about my professionalism and courtesy.
So, once again, thank you - all of you - from the bottom of my heart.

If you always come from your heart, and are competent and reliable, you will do exceedingly well in this business. I had a great signing last night after years and years of doing this work, I still enjoy it although the biz is so much different than it was in 2000.
Wishing you the best in your signing journey!

Congrats. Glad all went well. Be careful about NVS though. Did they tell you NOT to contact borrower before going? I agreed to it the first time and everything went fine, but the 2nd time I got burned. Never again will I agree to that requirement. I don't print or leave my house until I have confirmed with the borrower in advance.

They did say that they have a no call policy; however, since it was a rural address, I had to call borrower for directions. That was a good thing, too because it was an address in Skellytown, which is 15 miles from Borger, but the house was actually only 2 miles outside of Borger, I would have never found it.

Boy, when they have that policy they sure can give you a hard time. I really hate it. Doesn't make sense to me.I guess they have their reasons.
