LSI Notary Evaluation

LSI just sent an email out on awarding cash prize to borrowers for rating notaries online. They will be giving cash prizes to notaries as well.

Received that as well. Interesting ... 1 borrower a month to win $50 American Express Gift Card and whomever their NSA was will win the same.

Wonder how many will respond ..........

Probably not many in this neck of the woods. You would be surprised how many households (older residents) do not have internet connections. Many don't even have cell phones.

Wonder if they will give us a copy of the questions asked on the evaluation form, if we ask.

I thought the e-mail said the form is going to be part of

printed package.

I think it is just an information sheet asking the borrower to respond that is going to be a part of the package.

Re: I thought the e-mail said the form is going to be part of

I understood that the form in the printed package will ask the borrower to log onto a website and evaluate us, and we are to encourage them to do so. Their name will go into a lottery for a 50.00 card, and if they win we do, too.

Excerpt from LSI email ...

Effective May 15th, 2010, LSI’s “Confirmation for Signing Agent” will include a Borrower Survey page. This page will include detailed instructions for the borrower on how to go to LSI’s website and complete a survey about their notary’s performance. Please see sample attached. Please print the Borrower Survey page of the “Confirmation for Signing Agent”; take it with you to the signing and provide it to the borrower upon conclusion of the signing. Please note that this page has the specific LSI Order Number and Notary Provider ID critical to identifying the notary signing agent being rated.

I don't know how many borrowers will actually do this, but I seriously doubt it will be too many. Of course, the signing agent can help increase the odds of them doing it, by explaining to them the importance of doing the survey and the benefits for them and others. In my area, I don't think there will be a lot, since many of the residents are elderly and often they do not have internet access. (And they don't want it!)

Re: Speaking of LSI

I don't think too many people will want to bother to log on to their website and take the survey..

I have a comment on LSI..A few months ago they sent an email stating that we could join a purchasing group so that we may get discounts on office supplies, cell phone service etc. Well I signed up to use this purchasing service and I was denied. (I was looking for a discount on cell phones) The email stated that I was not an employee of LSI so I could not join!!

I will be calling LSI on mon to find out about this!

Can someone tell me where they get a discount on a cell phone plan that I could use..Time to upgrade! Thanks

Re: Speaking of LSI

I signed up and had no problem. I'm getting the discount for my cell phone, staples and there are some other things, gift companies you can order through with a discount.

Re: I thought the e-mail said the form is going to be part of

Personally, P E R S O N A L L Y, I am 100% sure that if this happened for M E 98% of the borrowers would comply. I am often ask if I would like a referral from them. They are 100% satisfied with my presentation and explaination of the docs.

They are very disappointed in the process and by the time I get there, they are just about ready to cancel the entire deal, honestly.

Not being able to contact lender, having calls returned, TC call trees, the lack of genuine concern on behalf of TC personnel is the biggest complaint by far. I actually tell them because I'm the only person they actually see, I do not want my face to show up in a nightmare about their loan Docs. I let them know I will help them to get in contact with the stake holder before I leave. When I am done, they are happen and want to tell people what type of job I've done.

You don't get this type of service for a low ball fee.

Results can be manipulated

A online survey makes no sense to me aside from what Paw stated about not all borrowers having access to a computer. How will they verify that the survey was acually completed by the borrower not the signing agent? I have a title company that includes a survey in every package and I present it to the borrowers at the end of every closing and it gets returned with the package. If LSI is leaving it up to the notary to present the survey instructions how will they know if the signing agent only offers it to borrowers who were really happy with there signing. Seems to be alot of room for error or abuse, although they only mention the 50.00 I'm sure they will also use it as a tool to weed out notaries.

I agree, James.

I've said it before a $70-$85 edoc included fee gets a "notary" only appearance from me.

Professional companies that require a professional NSA are willing to pay a professional fee.
