Notaries by Jacob - Jacob Horowitz
Has anyone done signings for Notaries by Jacob out of Cali? He had me do 2 signings and promised to send "Tons more" if I dropped my fee, which I agreed to on the second signing. Now, 4 months later, he has still not paid me nor does he answer the phone. I did hear back from him once about 2 months ago and he said that his sister and her BF were in a major skiing accident and the BF died. So, I believed him and he said he would be paying me within the week. Now it is May and no sign of the guy. Anyone know of him?

"Promised "Tons more" if I dropped my fee." Yeah, sure!
I'm sorry you fell for this pack of lies in order for you to accept their low-ball fee. Never happens, and I hope you newbies out there take this lesson seriously. Been discussed here, ad nauseam.

Don't fall for those promises. I have heard it before.
And, what does your pay have to do with the death in the family?

A couple of years ago, on a thread similar to this, someone said they told the caller they would give them a discount when they received the 10th, 20th or 30th (now I don't remember the number) assignment for that month, or something like that. I decided that was a great plan and I've used it a few times for those callers that say they'll give me the volume "if only I'd accept the lower fee". So far, no one has taken me up on my deal.
