Notary Rotary Annual Conference!

Title looks intriguing doesn't it I've been thinking about this, and thought to just throw it out here. I've not researched this so I don't know if this has been seriously discussed, but I do think that NotRot should have one. Me personally, I like meeting new people, and matching names with faces. I think it would fun!

Any thoughts....?

Yes. This would be of more value to all than the NNA confrence.
A suggestion, start with regional meeting on Sat and Sun which would not require so much time.
Meetings, networking, education/training classes, discussion groups, discussion/training session where Escrow/title cos and /or lenders could train how they expect us to handle thier docs and maybe some type of trade show that hopefully would include signing services, title/escrow/lenders.
Harry I would be happy the help put on an experimental one here in Dallas for this region, Tx Ok, Ar, La, MS anyone say within 500 mlies (Yes El Paso I know you are about 600 miles).

A long time ago a few notaries discussed an NR cruise

If it were the posters, it would be fun. Let's see, skills competition - how many Doc can you do in five minutes, fastest 150 page loan doc completion, and boxing for sure, for some extreme cage fighting would be just great! Smile

EXTREME CAGE FIGHTING..we'd have to bring some folks back...

who were 'sent away' from NotRot...now THAT would be cool...

If it's Vegas, which I dearly enjoy and its easy to get in and out of (except on Sun evening if you are using frequent flyer miles on Southwest)
I vote for the Flamingo. It's reasonably priced, in the center of the strip and has most of the enjoyable attractions close.
Please do NOT consider the Rivieria, it's "crappy", I stayed there last year and the room I was in had the wind "whistling"all night and they would not change my room
The South Point/Coast is nice and reasonable but it is some 5 miles south of the action on the strip.
Now, we are talking about this, you need to understand it takes time to set a convention up, generally 2 to 3 years. Of course with the current economy it might be accomplished quicker.

I'd be up for a 3-4 day, tax-deductible cruise...

maybe out of Houston or Florida? No meal or hotel worries, plenty of entertainment, etc.

Oh yeah, workshops too. Smile

Anybody a travel agent on the side? Or I've used an excellent cruise-only agency here.

Never been on a cruise. I'd sure be willing to try it with a great group like we have here, food 24/7, great entertainment, etc. I can already feel the warmth .....

Yes, I vote for a cruise ship conference. I just got back from Bermuda--it was fabulous!
I know Sylvia loves cruising, too!

"I know Sylvia loves cruising, too"

Yes, but because of health problems I don't travel further than Port Canaveral to get on the cruise ship. We take one or two a year - especially Halloween:)

The Orleans....you could set up a conference there in two weeks, aahh seafood buffet on Fri.hmmmm. I've been on three cruises...28 days around south America - too long Caribbean 14 days just right - Alaska seven days too short. You can do a conference for about 1/4 the cost of a cruise....do a conference then go on a short cruise or in reverse would be my suggestion.

How about a Mississipi River Boat Cruise, in the US, close for everyone...I love cruises....and I don't think their is any oil in this tributary yet!

I'm for it....how about a seminar on how to make it in this biz with everything you got! without giving yourself away.
