I have an older computer running Windows XP; just recently updated to Adobe 9.3 and all is working fine for me. I resisted for as long as I could, but had pages that would not print so decided I had best update. Those pages now print, btw. Of course, I was ready to revert to previous edition if need be. (thanks, PAW for where to go to do soJ).

Hi Ilene,
The Laptop that my wife uses is from 2003 with XP and we are using the latest Adobe without issue. The only thing I have done to the laptop is install a gig of memory. It came with 512. I also like to reload my computers every couple of years or so to begin fresh. You can pick up a lot of unwanted junk over the months and years.
In fact, I haven't noticed any issues with adobe since the infamous 7.0. You might have something like spyware, a conflicting program that you can remove if you no longer use it and some registry errors. You can check on this by using the free microsoft scan tool available here:

Before you run that, you can go into control panel, add/remove programs take a look and remove old programs that you don't use. Caution, if you don't know what a program on the list does, leave it. You don't want to remove anything essential to the operation of your computer.
