Speedy Closing & Title in NJ

OOPS, fast fingers. Thank you NR Just got a call from them for a Friday closing. Checked Signing Central and ran away as fast as I could.

Too bad, because if you invoice him as it says on the confirmation, he pays when he says he does. At least that has been my experience.

Speedy called me the other day, too. I declined. Their payment rep is so bad that I won't take a chance on them. Glad you've had good luck, though.

Check their history. You are only one in too many to count that actually collected in a reasonable time, if at all.

I read the bad reviews also- I also read that someone demanded a paypal payment in advance of the signing and Speedy did just that. After reading about the advance paypal payment- I requested the same thing- and they paid me before I completed the signing. And they did not take the payment back-

Based on the input in this thread perhaps I should have required the doc's overnight (for friday night closing) enclosed with a certified bank check for my fees. If they call in the future this is what I will do. Thank you all for your input.

I have checked their history. I can only say I invoice them as it states on the confirmation and the check comes as stated. If they pay when they say they are going to, then they aren't slow payers. They may not pay as quickly as I/you would want but for me it was exactly when they said, they were going to pay. So, for myself I will continue to work for them. If that changes then so will my opinion!!

I just got paid this week for a closing done five months ago. Reminders every two weeks since it was 30 days out. I was told multiple times it was in the mail and it never was. You were wise to run.

I worked for them for years when I was in NY. I never did NOT get paid. Now I have to admit that sometimes I had to call but Frank always took care of it. He would pay through Paypal if requested. I think he is a good man who got caught up with a couple of sinking TCs. Now of course this is not "our" problem. But the point is that he made good and is trying to stay in business and pay the notaries. How may companies just went away taking our money with them.

In these hard times I find myself taking "a chance" on a company that in great times, I would pass by. But that's me and my decision and I don't do a second until I get paid for the first. Please note: I am NOT making suggesting that this is right for anyone else.
