Thank you!
To all those who also had problems and supported me behind the scenes, thank you! Just remember, you can’t stop it till everyone who has a problem with it comes forward. If you keep supporting the system, you are then condoning the behavior, Income or not!
PS: this is just an acknowledgment and a thank you, no response needed or asked for! Let it stand for what it is!

Re: Seriously. Shut up already Tess.
And you know what. That is not very nice to tell someone to shut up. I have a 10 year old and he even knows that is not very nice to say to to anyone.

I also agree with everything you say. I am behind you and thank you for speaking up. I also have a big problem. I am the only one in my home zip code, But, the neighboring county notary has his listing above me because he paid more for his listing than I did. It is not even his home zip. He made up a zip and address. This should be false advertising, But Carmen says because he paid to have his name listed first, it is OK. I was told that he has paid more for the top spot and he will continue to have the top spot and it does not matter which address or zip he is actually in. HMMMM.

I have the #1 placement in my zip - unfortunately, another Notary out of Virginia Beach, operating as a signing service has all of the other surrounding counties #1 spot. When I questioned Carmen I was told "all money is green" and since she paid for the spots, they were hers. I find this to be the only situation that I feel is unfair by the numbers group. IMO signing services shouldn't be allowed to list on the same sites as individuals. In her listings she doesn't indicate she is a signing service so unsuspecting companies call her, thinking they are hiring her personally but actually end up with someone else...............

<<<<In her listings she doesn't indicate she is a signing service so unsuspecting companies call her, thinking they are hiring her personally but actually end up with someone else............... >>>>
The last two signings I completed for two different companies, the notary service agreement each stipulated the following: "This signing may not be subcontracted". A notary representing herself as an individual but who really is a SS wouldn't be paid by either of these companies I worked with. And if I were a company and I hired Jane Jones as the notary for the assignment and the docs came back with Mary Smith's notarizations (I'd check with my vendor) - NEITHER would be paid.
Here's how MY directory would work if I had one. Notaries would be listed by zip code. That way when a company or individual searched for a notary in zip code 12345, then those are the listings they'd see first, then the nearest surrounding zips would be next, in order of closest to farthest for the first 25 listings.
The spots could be valued as #1 being most expensive down to spot #20. If the notary listed in spot #1 no longer lists on my directory, the notary in #2 could be offered spot #1. If he/she declines the offer, then the next notary is offered spot #1, so on and so forth until the spot is filled. If spot #5 opens then notary #6 is offered spot #5....if he/she declines the offer, the next notary is offered spot #5, so on and so forth. If no one already listed wants the offer of the open spot, the offer would be available to any new lister.
That would be how MY directory would work - notaries listed by zip code.

Yes, I know the person you are speaking of. It is very
suspect. They came into this area from NC and have come up with an address is almost every local city. Those could be mail-box stores addresses, for all I know. They have a team of notaries. Since VA is an "at large" state, and we can notarize anywhere, I don't know how we could prove they're doing anything that isn't on the up & up. Supposedly, there are rules against an ss advertising on the sites. As you've been told, it's all about "show me the money".

Numbers tell the story! You might want to check yours!
I just looked at all 44 Zip codes in my County on this site. Of 44 I show up 1st on only 8, I do not show up on 4 of them at all, although my competitor and two others from my neighboring county do, and in 18 of the ones I do show up on, my competitor shows up before me, even in the zips that are far out from her County but closer to me!!! There are some zips that I show up 16th and one I show up 32nd. So that leads me to believe that there is a very good possibility that he is either playing with our zips or his program is faulted. Either way this is no overlap problem and I am not getting my money’s worth there anymore.
