VuPoint Magic Wand
The other day Shoshanna told us about the Vu Point Magic Wand and we went to Bed Bath and Beyond. Armed with a 20% discount coupon which we got from signing up on their website, we paid about $86.00 for it. Bill went to Staples and got the Micro SD 4 GB card for it for $9.99.
When we tried getting it going it took a few times to get it working but once we did it works great! We have a portable scanner but need our laptop to have it work. This wand is about 10" long and 1 1/2" wide. Instead of placing the drivers license on a piece of paper with scotch tape on the back, we placed it into a clear plastic sleeve with a black piece of paper. The photos came out so clear. You do have to scan slowly and hold your hand steady but once you get the rhythm going it is a great little piece of equipment.

Ok, I'm convinced. Gonna have to get me one of these. Have you tried it with pictures. I sometimes am at my mom's or aunts house and have to bring home any pictures that I want and scan them and then take the pictures back to them. Will it work for this?

You're very welcome! I think it's great myself. As you say, once you are used to it, it works great. Just keep a supply of those batteries because they run out quickly.
