BancServ fee ?

I recently signed up with them, passed their test, etc. Received their packet to submit and was perplexed by their pay. Contract states they pay $50.00 for signing that's completed or signing that's NOT completed (if brwrs won't sign).

My first question is why would they pay the same rate for both and secondly, are people really working for that on here and if so, why such good reports, including yesterday's? It does state this fee doesn't include travel, but I would like to hear from some of you who work with them and say they meet your fee, whether or not it's $$$ minimum?

Come this time of year, our mountain weather can be disastrous and road conditions hazardous. I take this time of year and travel conditions into consideration with my fees. Many areas get snowed-in and I do all I can to plow through such conditions, but surely not for $50.00.

I wouldn't walk out my door for $50 and I told them that. I do a lot of work for them and they have always met my fee. They're a good company to work with, but they will try to talk you into accepting a lower fee.

"are people really working for that on here" -- Not me Smile

I do accept work from BancServ, however, they meet my fees (over $100) on the jobs that I do for them. I don't receive a huge volume of calls from them; may be my fees or just my area. I do receive some low ball offers from time to time from them. Those are countered with my fee offer and are either accepted or rejected by them.

Personally, I do not see anything wrong with someone adjusting their rates (e.g. winter rates verses rest of the year rates, holiday or weekend rates, etc.). If certain times of the year and conditions make one's job more hazardous, I see nothing wrong with the fee asked to perform that job reflecting the increased danger, inconvenience, time, etc.

My only suggestion would be that if someone did have different rates for such occasions that the increased fee(s) be discussed prior to accepting any assignments as well as the reasons behind the increase with the hiring party. I have found that, if properly explained, some companies that may not normally pay a higher fee have been willing to accept the increase with little resistance.

I agree about holiday & hazard fees. Unfgortunately, to a

lot of SSs, a notary's life ain't worth a plum nickel - much less $25! We had 40+ inches of snow last seasom (the norm being 3-8), & one SS suggested I take a shovel & some salt!

"one SS suggested I take a shovel & some salt!"

LOL

Did you tell them that due to low balling SS companies you couldn't afford them at the moment but maybe if, starting with them, the SS companies began offering professional fees you might be able to try that?

LOL I might have been removed from their list after that call and my fees would have been the last reason for removal. Wink

BancServ papers say $50 but they have always met my fee and paid within 30 days.

They just cut me a check for $200.
