Docs never being received
Is it just me or are others finding lately that you accept a call for a signing, receive the confirmation, and then never receive the documents for the signing? (nor a call to let you know the signing has been cancelled?) What is upsetting to me is that I cancel other calls because I made a committment to the other company.

I would maybe say it might be the way you run your business...or the way you are allowing businesses to use you? You need to be the one in control, calling the shots. When you take the signing, do you ask up front, if they have docs, or when they expect to have the docs? If they don't know, do you confirm with the signers, that you have a tenative appointment, based on getting their documents by a certain time, or it may get pushed back? Do you keep calling to check on docs? Alerting the hiring company and the signers of (YOUR time constraints) of this from the get-go, saves everyone time. If they know the appointment is subject to docs arriving in time to print, they will have to be honest with you if they want you to take the assignment. Give them a cut-off time, and stick to it, you cannot allow other appointments to suffer because of one companies poor communication/processing methods. I have found over the years, that it is mostly the low-paying companies, that tend to hire the notary before they even know when docs will be ready. I rarely have appointments cancelled. I rarely wait on docs. I have learned to steer clear of companies that operate this way, because of late docs AND the low fees they offer. Just not worth it

Sheila same here..,,,Yesterday four hours before the appt I sent an email telling them I hadn't received the Docs and asked them to please advise... nothing happened until I sent this email two hours later.....
>>>>>>>O K So now I'm starting to worry! No one has contacted me so here's my side of the story. The appt is for 6:30 PM....during commuter/rush hour the trip will take me approx. 1 - 1 1/4 hour. I will have to print the Docs and review them, so....I need them by 4:30 pm or someone will have to call the borrower and push the time out / cancel this appt!,,<<<<<<<<<<<
I got an email from the loan processor telling me "they have a two hour window to get the Docs to the notary before schedule appt time."
I replied, "that won't work in the BAY AREA where traffic is a nightmare."
Could this be the reason so many Docs are being sent out late? Because somebody is holding on to them while telling us....."we're waiting on HUD1 approval?"
