FASS

I just got dumped by FASS. The last signing I had with them was 11/5/10. They didn't have the courtesy to even tell me I was in inactive status. I was wondering why no signings, so I called vendor relations and it took two days to get back to me. When they finally did I was told they no longer need my services. I am appalled at how they just drop you like nothing. I was in white glove status for several years and did a A+ job for them. At times I went above and beyond for them and they do this to their notaries. WRONG!!!

Don't take this "dumping" you by FASS personally at all. It has happened to half a dozen on this board. They are shifting to lower priced notaries. I know for a fact that most local FA offices don't like using this service. They prefer to find their own notaries. FASS is looking for white glove signers who will work for $75 incg edocs. Lots of luck!

Thank you 101livescan for responding so quickly. I did take it personally, but I do believe they are looking for notaries who will work for less. Time will tell....with that...as they say - you get, what you pay for!

They have done this to A LOT of notaries. 101livescan is right - don't take it personally because it seems they do it to everyone eventually! I've never worked for them and never will, based on how they treat their notaries.

To a fellow dumpee - congratulations

We were dumped over a year ago because we understand the value of our service. I look at it this way...other notaries in my area are selling their time slots for $70/$75 to FASS and National loan closers which ties them up. Good! If they get a call for $100/$125 they have to turn it down and I get the call. My calendar is plenty full. I like it.

Re: I dumped them years ago!!!!

There is definitely an upside to being dumped by this offshore micromanaged animal!

We dumped each other years ago. They are definitely not worth the aggravation.

I think it also depends on how saturated your area is with SA's. If there aren't many SA's to compete with, they have to bite the bullet and accept whoever has the lowest fee . . . even if it's over $100.

Re: Off Shore Companies

I'm unfamiliar with this company but if they're off shore company, I think it's good practice for notaries to only work for U.S. companies. When you work for overseas companies who under pay and micromanage, it hurts the U.S. economy. Imagine if this became a trend, that these overseas operations put good companies in the U.S. out of business?

Re: Off Shore Companies....double huh?

How long have you been a signing agent? From the tone of your posts, not long. I don't think anyone here has not heard of FASS (First American Signature Services . . note 'American'). They're discussed regularly here.

I too was recently dumped by them. Very unprofessional how it was handled. I did a job on early on a Saturday AM and because of the time and distance they agreed (and paid) double my normal fee. Then I had 2 scheduled the following Tuesday. Scheduler called me on Monday to say those assignments had been cancelled. When I tried to log onto the website on Monday night, I was locked out. I thought maybe I had mis-typed my password so called them that night and several times the next day. Finally two days later I was told that they had enough coverage in the area and that I would be contacted in the future if my services were needed. I completed over 400 assignments with them in the past year.
Initially, I took it personally. It is good to see that others have had similar experiences and it is how that conduct business.

My life got a lot easier with them out of my life. Yes, they pay ontime, but the hassles are just not worth it. I dumped them the same day they dumped me. Good riddance.

This answers some questions for me. FASS has lately been confirmings signings at my regular rates (which are not $75.00!).

Then at the last minute they have cancelled my signings.

This has happened the last 3 signings I accepted for them. So they evidently keep looking for someone cheaper after they have confirmed this with me. Anyone think they have been doing this to them?
