FASS

I have withdrawn from FASS signings, they do not pass the "white glove" test in my book. Three times I lost a signing today because they did not communicate when I advised the borrower wanted to sign today and not the 2nd - expecting to have a change, no I was cancelled and they gave it to someone else.

I was written up the other day for not sending in a completion, I did only I advised it did not complete, because I did not get docs. This was my fault?

I drove 60 miles the week before only to be met at the borrower's front door and she advised she cancelled the signing the day before. I was not advised.

They request you for a signing a week in advance and then cancel the day before. Meaning I had that
time set aside for them and did not accept any other signings.

Yes I know they pay on time, but have lost three signings and it is not worth it.

Thanks for listening, needed to vent

I’ve been a Notary Public for more than 20 years. I’ve been a Notary Signing Agent (doing ‘remote’ closings) for more than 8 years. I have NEVER worked for FASS. Why would anyone? What do they offer besides low pay, and considerable grief? Not what I need in my life.

I agree Les. I've been doing remote closings for five years - FASS has never called me and I am glad of it! Hearing repeatedly about how they drop-kick notaries to the curb - nope, don't need that when there are plenty of other good companies to work for!

Can you mention a couple of good ones? I am in the northeast. Then I can drop them.

I did two signings for Negrete's this month. Must echo that they were gems to work with. They went on my "send a holiday gift to encourage business" list *laughs*.

That is a wise decision. I withdrew from FASS also. Who needs them? I don't.

Agree with you Les, I don't work for them any longer. Did awhile back but got tired of their attitude and crap.

I'm at odds with all of you.

I don't have problems with them...never have had...and they pay me fee $XXX. without

quibbling.

Never had any attitude problems or other misc crap with them either.

That's not to say that you haven't...I don't doubt it one bit.

It's just that I haven't had problems with them.

But hey, not everyone drives a Ford, Chevy or Toyota.

You're in North Dakota......do you live in a rural area? Do you provide Notary/Signing Agent services to rural borrowers/customers? I would guess that you are one of a few Notaries (or the ONLY Notary) in a certain territory. Therefore, it is in a company's best interest to *not* have an attitude problem with you or give you misc. crap. Yes, they meet your fee $XXX - they have no choice if you're the only Notary (or one of a few) who covers your area.

LKT: That's my situation and I like it that way. SS or TC will comment that their are not many NSAs with TPL in my area. I just smile and tell them my fee.

That's a GOOD thing, for you. I was just making a point to pan/nd that *of course* he/she doesn't have any problems with the company that six posters [in a row] have problems with. Pan/nd and you have an advantage over those who, like me, live where there's a saturation of Notaries. Notaries in saturated cities risk getting jerked around by schedulers looking for the cheapest Notary. The rural Notary is a GEM - rare and valuable!!

That's about how it is in my area. There are maybe 20 signing agents in a 2 county area (as far as I can tell from different websites I've been to). So I've had pretty good luck with FASS so far. I've only had one appointment rescheduled out under me, but it was more than 24 hours in advance. They probably called me for it, but I was on another signing and didn't answer my phone. The schedulers are generally under the gun to get things scheduled, so if you don't answer promptly, they go on to the next one in line.

Since I'm getting the bulk of my business from them at the moment and they pay the fee I request, I'll keep working for them for the time being.

LKT/CA:

you'd guess wrong

the two-county metro population here is 300,000....serviced by 8 notaries who all provide

service in town and out of town..you won't 8 listed because several aren't but they get

business anyway.

FASS definitely has their pick..and if they chose to have an attitude issue with me

they'd have others to choose from.

I'm far from the only one

Yes, but you might be the only one available at the time they need. Not all SAs work all the time. Some maintain other jobs and do signings on the side. Some are SAM's that are limited to the time their kids are in school. Some are retired and only work part time.

My situation is similar to your's, and I get regular calls from agencies begging me to take a signing because they can't find anyone else.

I need to vent too. They never received my docs although I know I sent them to Fedex. They lost another paper of mine and said it was not in the package. They called a week ago with another package that they said was not delivered until I told them who signed the Fedex. I am frustrated. This has never happened to me with any other company. Has anyone else had this experience?

I used to work for them - even took their conference call training - was then rated as a "white glove" agent - UNTIL I got the call that I will be a "white glove agent" if I will accept $75.00 for a signing with e-docs. Told them no, since this is my company I set my fees and won't budge just to be classified as a "white glove agent". Never got another call from them and don't care to.

Outsourcing with an attitude. A bit hard to please.

Fickle
Arrogant
Superior
Supercilious

Other than that they are just ducky

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! To hell with them. They dumped me too. Said I could reapply in a year. Who gives a hoot. They are not the esteemed company I prefer to work for. Same thing, if I could lower my fees, I could continue to be a WHITE GLOVE SIGNER. Well, I'll always be a white glove signer but not for FASS. There business model doesn't pass muster with me. I will not work for them...they don't measure up to my standards.
