Help on printing problem
Got last minute docs today. Downloaded, hit print 2 copies, scooped them off the printer and went to signing. Got about 20% of the way into the package and all I had were blank forms. The standard form was there, but no information, i.e. name, loan amount, interest rate, etc. Called T/C. She pulled them up on her computer and they were there, but did not print for me. She emailed a copy directly to the borrower and he was able to print them off (albeit very slowly as his laser was a 6P). Got home and looked at my direct email (first ones were on the web) and again BLANK. I have Windows 7 OS. They were PDF format. Any suggestions so this doesn't happen again? PAW, really could use your help if you have a clue or anyone else.

Had that happen one time to me too. No rhyme or reason. Called to have them resent and it happened again.
Finally someone suggested I choose print as graphic and they printed ok. There are settings in my printer to choose "print as graphic". I don't know about yours.

A few times, the 'data' is treated as a "markup". So, when printing (using Adobe Reader), at the top of the printer playout screen (the screen that shows printer selection and many option settings), be sure the "Comments and Forms:" shows "Document and Markups". If it only shows "Document", then the markups won't print.

Uggghhhh, sorry that happened to you Dorothy (and Mrs. Kovacs, too). I have no idea how to explain or correct your problem, but always remember: My printer is your printer if you are in my neck of the woods, I would have bailed you out.

Discovered the problem
Geeky grandson came to visit for Thanksgiving. Discovered that there was an update that had not been installed. His explanation was that the lender compiled the docs under a newer version and that is why I could not print it. The borrower was an IT guy and evidently had the latest version of Adobe.
So, if it ever happens to any of you, my suggestion would be to check for updates before driving yourself absolutely crazy.
Oh, and for those of you who said NEVER leave without checking the docs; the first 10% of the package did have the figures as well as the last 10%. Unless I'd gone over it page by page I would not have caught it at home anyway. I know, I know there are some of you that will still say that's what I should have done, but in over 4,000 closings, this is the first time it has happened. I weigh one time against a lot of "make work" on the other 3,999 + loans. Even if I would have carefully checked out the docs at home I probably would not have been able to correct it as T/C didn't have a clue as to how to correct it. It was just providence that the borrower was an IT guy and had the latest program which I would not have known from home.
The end result was that it actually was easier and quicker having the docs sent to him and having him print them out, even with his slower laser printer.

how big was the loan pkg?
How big was the loan pckg, depending on your printer's RAM (memory) it may not have been able to handle all of the data, and just printed the form. I've found with my "lightweight" printer that if a doc set is 130 pages, I print the first 100 pages, and then the remaining 30 separately.

Re: how big was the loan pkg?
Nope it wasn't the printer. I have an HP 4100, which is an office model, not a personal computer. If it would have been the printer, the borrower's HP 6 P would not have printed it. When I went back through the package and read it on the computer it was blank, so it definitely wasn't the printer.

It sounds to me like you were very lucky on this one. Number one you were able to contact Title (I assume after hours), and number two someone there was smart enough to send the docs directly to the borrowers, and number three the borrowers had the capacity to download and print the docs. I glad it turned out okay for you.
