LD Products - printer toner problem --
I use the TN570 for a Brother MFC. I've been getting the LD Products generic cartridges and having no problems ... until 3 weeks ago.
Toner runs out. Ok. Change cartridge. No print to very light print on 1 inch right vertical margin - only. Switched that cartridge with another new one. Same result. Change drum. No difference. I'm stressing. Gotta print for next job. Rushed to Office Depot and bought store brand cartridge. Install and print with no problem. Called LD and explained entire ordeal. They say I did everything they would've told me to do. They ship me 2 replacements, which I receive 3 days later.
Just now. Office Depot cartridge runs out. Switch it with new replacement. Same results as before. It's now 10 pm. Have signing at 9 am. Call LD and lo and behold, someone answers. She can take an order but there's no one for technical assistance. I can, however, call back at 7 am for help. Order??!!!?? With the same problem persisting through 3 cartridges (have not opened the 2nd replacement). I'll call back at 7 am and hope for some miracle.
Office Depot opens at 8 am. Guess where I'll probably be at 8 am!!
Any suggestions on how to fix this tonight? Thanks!

LD will stand behind the product as you stated, does not solve this weird problem though.
I think I would have docs on flash drive and print at OD in the morning to know u can keep appointment....if new Store Brand does not work this time around at least u have docs!
May want to look at printers while u are there!
Sorry, I cannot think of anything else to help.

I have been having the same probs with my Brother 8640. LD says their manufacturer changed the cartridges and drums...yep they sure did. I have been returning cartridges and the drum also with no satisfactory results. I finally got my printer to work with a cartridge from Office Depot (cha ching) and using the LD drum. I will restart my adventure with LD on Monday. I figure I will have to find a different supplier as their new "universal" cartridges don't work! I kept telling them that I couldn't possibly be the only one having probs but they made it seem like I was. This stuff is soooooo not compatible!

Re: LD Products - printer toner problem - Supplier problem?
I wonder if it goes beyond Brother printers. I've just returned two in a row to LD Products for my HP 2430. The first one was leaving a shadow all across the page (i.e. not fusing to the page properly). The replacement cartridge they sent me seemed fine at first, but then started leaving streaks across one side (but only on legal pages, curiously), then started to squeak and squeal, getting progressively worse. I thought it was my printer until I tried sticking in an old cartridge (which fortunately I still had). Both problems immediately disappeared.
I have to say that their service was great. I got a replacement cartridge the very next day after I called them. I just hope I don't have to repeat this process any time soon!
I'm beginning to wonder if it's time to look elsewhere. Are others of you still having good luck with them? It would be a shame to move on based on info that doesn't represent the big picture. Thanks...

Re: Brother Printer Cartridges
I've had inconsistent results with remanufactured/generic cartridges over the years, so now I purchase only genuine EOM products. I purchase thru eBay, at not a lot more than the cost of remanufactured's.

Re: Brother Printer Cartridges
Ebay cartridges are where I have had the most problems. Glad your not.

You need a new printer, they're cheap. Do it.

Re: LD Products - printer toner problem -- UPDATE
So, I got up at 6 am to give me time to be ready to fight the world at 7 am, when LD Products open. Tech support had me clean the corona wire and the white strip ... no change. He'll send me out 1 replacement cartridge on Monday to try immediately and report back. When asked if they had changed providers, he didn't know.
Website said Office Depot opens at 8 am. I was there at 7:45. 7:56 go stand by door to wait for them to open. THEN, I noticed posted sign ... new hours: open at 10 am on Saturday. Rush over to Staples about 7 miles away. They open at 9 am. Went into Target (to check 'em out). Target doesn't carry toner, just ink.
By this time, it's 8:30. What the heck! Go get a Starbucks and sit in my car and wait for Staples to open.
Staples does not carry generic for that model. Their Brother price is $103.99 (total w/tax $113.+). Then came the NICE SURPRISE. Being a registered EC Purchasing member brought the total price to $81.64!
Hey it beats $113.
Just found SuperMedia Store.com, who carries my toner for $29.44 (remanufactured, of course). Anyone have experience with this one?
Thanks to all who responded.
Nobhill: my printer's working perfectly now that it has a cartridge it likes. Deb: Next I'm calling LD and see if I can just get a refund and forget another replacement.

Re: LD Products - printer toner problem -- UPDATE
It's crazy but LD and I have gone back and forth so many times that I am no longer sure who owes who what, but I am sure I can spin this into a refund for 2 cartridges and a drum. I am just glad I wasn't the lone ranger in this debacle.

I am pretty sure I used supermediastore before and had to return bad toner.

I am not sure what your point of reference is, however, I do not consider paying nearly $400 for a new Laser Jet cheap!. It has served me very well for the last 5 years, untill this summer when apparently LD's supplier decided that they could make these cartridges and drums more universal. I think it may be time to send LD a Dear John letter and move on to the next toner provider.

After having read the entire thread, my conclusion is
that LD has a new, cheaper supplier to help them through these leaner times.
It just may be time to give them the Dear John letter and move on. I still have 2 cartridges stockpiled so am interested in how this plays out. To everyone who is complaining and attempting a work out with LD, please post results so that those of us who will be ordering soon can make a more educated decision. I know I will appreciate it.
Also, perhaps you can all find out if they have new supplier.
Thanks to ALL for your great comments.

I use inkjetstar.com
Have used them for 4 years - had one problem (turned out cartridge was broken) and they replaced it immediately, no questions asked.
I get 2 HP's for $85 I think it is...3-5k output each.
I like them.

I don't know if your Brother model has a corona wire. It's
at the back of the drum. I clean the corona wire everytime I changer carts. It's a blue tab & you slide it back & forth 20-30 times. Also, make sure it ends up on the left side. I use LD products all the time, and only had a couple of carts that had to be returned. They have a 100% guarantee on their products. Good luck.

Re: I don't know if your Brother model has a corona wire. It's
Yes my printer has a corona wire and I clean it quite often. I first detected a problem when my new toner cartridge did not fit in the drum and we went downhill from there. To get a package printed I ended up opening up a new LD cartridge and refilling an old one with that toner. Thank goodness my brain kicked in for that last minute fix and I just happened to have a funnel that worked quite nicely, ah the bennies of having someone around that loves lots of tools. I do believe that they changed suppliers to a cheaper one that assumed these toners were all interchangeable, they are about to learn a valuable lesson on cutting the wrong corners.

If so, this could be a costly effort to save a few bucks
I wonder how long it will take them to reconsider if they find themselves suddenly bombarded with returns. I hope it's not a long term contract! I don't think there are too many suppliers out there with refurb'd cartridges for my printer - and I sure don't want to be spending twice as much for new ones!

I have an HP 2430tn. Only had two problems with cartridges over the last three years or so that I have been buying from LD. Both the same problem. The first happened a year or two ago - brand new cartridge and after a few uses my printer started saying "low toner". I returned the cartridge for a replacement. The second time happened with the current cartridge I'm using now. I've been so busy that I just didn't want to hassle with the return. I decided to see how long I could actually print even though I got the "low toner" message from the very first use on this cartridge. I usually get 8500 - 9000 pages out of a cartridge and right now I'm at 8000 pages. Glad I just kept the stupid thing.
