LD products issues
Regarding the previous postings, I too have experience all the same issues with their cartridges. Previously I purchased cartridges on e-bay. However, because of poor quality and other issues, I went to LD and found a consistently good product up until recently. After reading other postings and agreeing with them I e-mailed LD and let them know that many of us were unhappy with what we were getting. I invited them to read the comments on the site and asked them to respond. Personally, I would like to continue buying from them and think that if they are aware of the huge business we present as a group they will be more aware and possibly improve the product as well as issue a better discount for members of this site. Hope you folks agree with what I have done. If I receive a reply from LD I will let you know. If I do not receive a reply that is satisfactory, then I buy somewhere else also.

And I just received my toner cartridge that I bought after reading all of the raves of how wonderful LD products are. Hopefully my toner works. Will let you all know.

ajd, please know that LD has provided a very good product in the past. Seems they are having a major issue with their Brother supplier. I have an HP, and I have been VERY happy with their products. The two issues I had were minor and I would not hesitate to continue to buy from them.
I've had two issues and both were the same problem. Two different times, I've installed a new re-manufactured LD cartridge into my HP, and the printer gives me the "low toner" message even though it's a new cartridge. The first one I returned for replacement (good thing I buy three at a time) and the second one I just kept and it seemed to print the same amount as it was supposed to.
I noticed that about a year ago they changed their boxes and also the cartridges themselves seemed different, and don't have the LD label on them any more. I hadn't realized that they switched suppliers.

I have had 14 brother cartridges in the last 2 months, yes they ware very nice and have credited my account, but I voiced my dissatisfaction in there product. Customer service told me they had a bad batch and will look into in. I had to order from a different supplier until Ld gets a new supplier. to bad I liked ordering from them.

I had been using LD toner for months with no problem until my last order. I have 2 Brother 5370's and tried to use LD toner in each and both locked up each time. Had to take printer's to tech shop because toner cartridge becomes locked into the printer, and won't print. Any savings I saw with LD went to tech guy to fix both printers.

Is the issue with Brother printers and remanufactured
products or a broader problem which included other manufacturers as well?

I used to be a regular LD Products customer...
...and then discovered I could get the same remanufactured cartridges much cheaper off Amazon.com. My switch had nothing to do with LD quality, which I always found acceptable; it was solely price. I have had no quality issues with the products I find on Amazon. I also found LD customer service to be quite good, but the same can be said for every supplier I have used from Amazon.

I tried them once or twice. My only issue was that they didn't last long. I refill my cartridges and can usually get 3 or 4 refills out of it before it starts to go bad. I couldn't even get one refill out of an LD cartridge. Overall, it's cheaper for me to buy a genuine HP cartridge and get multiple refills out of it.

Frank: Totally agree with what you did.
I did call LD yesterday about not sending a replacement and just issuing refund. CSR advised the replacement order had already been issued and would be sent out Monday. However, he would note my request and hopefully shipment would be stopped. If so, I would be notified, sent RMA and label to return the 2 current cartridges and refund would be issued in 5-7 days.
I ordered 2 from SuperMediaStore.com yesterday at $29.44 each for compatible 7500 yield cartridge. There's tax on order but no shipping. Price also includes discount for promotion code GHADUE that I found on their site.
Hope LD gets a clue and goes back to the very good product they previously sold.

Totally agree
I've been ordering from LD for years. I once switched to inkjet (I think) cos I had a discount coupon - but I had problems with their stuff and went back to LD. Unfortunately, LD has really dropped the ball on my last two orders - I now have the same problems everybody else has. I hope LD gets the message - but I'm sure corporate thinks they know what they're doing (keeping prices down by lowering quality?)... so it's time to move on. Too bad.

Me, too.
I was thinking of doing the same thing myself, so you beat me to it. Thanks. I also wanted to repeat that my problem was not with a Brother Printer.
The first cartridge I had a problem with arrived after they had told me that this model cartridge was on back-order. When it arrived, the label was different from what I'd seen in the past (neither had LD Products on it for this printer, although the ones I bought for another HP printer in the past did.) The last two replacement cartridges I received both did have the LD Products label. The newest replacement (just received a couple of days ago) seems to be working OK so far. We'll see...
I hope we continue to revisit this issue, as it's naturally an ongoing one for all of us. Word travels fast and if they don't go back to providing a quality product along with their good service, they will lose tons of business very quickly - and probably already are!

Re: Me, too.
I also have been using LD Products for quite some time. I've only had one cartridge for my HP, that I had problems with recently. Large chunks of ink on right side of paper. They did replace immediately. However; I've been keeping track lately of number of pages printed on the high yield and ended up with 4,044 pages only. The cartridges often stop running, even if it says it has 33% left.
Hopefully, LD Products responds, I like dealing with them.

Re: I refill my cartridges.
Brother is so easy to do. Mych easer then HP. All you do with brother is take out the plug and put more toner, put the plug back in your done. HP required a tool but that is easy too. I get my toner from http://www.ink-refills-ink.com/. James sent me an address to a lady that was selling the toner for about $5 bottle but she did not have a web site up back then. Maybe he will chimr ins with her contact information.
