Lower and lower
Is it just my area, or are others finding the fees offered/"approved" for notaries getting lower and lower?

They just keep offering me more and more and more in AL
Yes, I get more and more and more pages per package and more and more and more instructions and more and more people to call when completed. Just love every minute of it.

Even my favorites are offering me less and less - none of which I take. I love being a signing agent but have been looking for part time work. Hate to go back to working in an office but at least it will be steady income. I am wondering where the signing agent business will be in 3-5 years.

And I'm noticing the better, more professional companies do not seem to be calling as much which is sad since it likely means the cheaper/less professional low ball companies are getting more business. Those seem to be the only ones calling here lately. And you're right, the somewhat better companies are starting the ole "let me see if I can get that approved" thing and never calling back. One evening I got a call from three different companies for the same signing!

Only if you accept it.
If it's not profitable, don't do it. Yes, someone else might. Maybe they are nearer & so it is profitable. However, as an oldie who maintains my fee, all I can say is eventually the people who work too cheap simply are gone. But I'm still standing and saying 'No' when it's not profitable.

Once again as I guess I have posted before, if you thin k of yourself as a professional and provide excellent service you must maintain your price, you end up also appealing to the customers who pay for quality. The low ballers will always be there because someone is always there to accept the fee. The trick is to overcome the desire to just fill in a time slot and the go out on the closing and ask yourself why you took it for a low price. I seem to think the low ball companies for the most part, appear to be unorganized, distrustful, babysit you and have to be hounded to get payment.
